No one replied and I really want to know (before I get my next shipment of my

clover, broccoli, and fenugreek. I don't care about beans. I know how to store

them.

I just want to make sure that I can still store all my seeds (in their ziplock

bags) in my freezer.

I just want to know where all of YOU store your seeds.

comments would be appreciated. And I know we probably discussed this way back

some time ago, but at my age, I forget stuff.

lol

I promise to write it down and remember it this time.

Melody, Gil promotes freezing. If you let your seeds get too hot, the

germ will die and then they won't sprout. Same thing happens to old

seeds. Check the 's web page for the life expectancy of

seeds. I would suggest that you put your seeds into a jar with a lid

before you put them in the freezer, That will help guard against freezer

burn, if you keep them in the freezer for a long time. The story about

store bought mung beans in exactly why I started sprouting in the first

place. You will also discover that anything you grow yourself tastes

better that store bought. If you can't grow your own, shop the farmer's

markets. I gave my 90 year old neighbor a zucchini. Next day she said,

" Your squash tastes better than the one's from the store " . WELL DUH!

I store my seeds in ziploc baggies on a shelf in one of my cabinets.

If I were to buy large quantities of seed, like 25 pounds, I would

store it in a freezer (if I had the money to buy that kind of bulk, I

would have a bigger freezer) but since I only have 2-3 pounds of seed

on hand, considering all varieties of seed combined, I just keep it in

the cabinet because I'm going to use it all up long before it has a

chance to go bad.

I freeze my seeds and am still using seeds from 3-4 years ago with a great

germination rate.

Hope this helps.

Hi All!

So SOME OF YOU STORE IN ZIPLOCKS, and some of you freeze.

I think I shall continue to freeze. It just gives me peace of mind.

And yesterday I served sprout salads to several friends. I added cherry

tomatoes, black olives, and my broccoli, my fenugreek, and my radish sprouts. A

splash of extra virgin olive oil, some salt and pepper, and fresh basil.

THEY ALL WENT NUTS!!!

They couldn't stop raving.

God bless these sprouts. That's all I can say.

I also store mine in zip lock bags. Like Sparrow,

if I had more freezer space and was storing larger

amounts of seeds I'd probably store them in there,

but I don't have that kind of room and they are

fine for a while in bags.

Melody-

Your sprout salad sounds wonderful and that is one of my favorite way to have

such sprouts. I forgot to mention that the sprouts I place in the freezer are

in freezer bags. Actually, I double bag them. So far I have had great luck

with quality organic seeds. Now for some fresh tomatoes out of my garden to go

with the sprouts. That is a little bit of heaven.
