Guest guest
I'm sorry you're not happy with your results from the challenge Carolyn If nothing else, it was great for your body anyway.... I too haven't lost any weight in a long time. NOt that I really need or expect too, but it would be a nice surprise nonetheless... Of course I don't mind if you don't finish today... not even a stretching workout though???? I have no clue when I will get my workout done either. My house is a mess and I'm clueless what I will be making for supper... UGH. Being a SAHM is a lot of work! LOL.. LOL.. some days i think that it sucks!! heh. im just in a downer mood... yesterday was a long, bad day... and i was upset last night at an event that occurred at our 'beaver' meeting, when i was trying to lead one part of it (the other leader pissed me right off!) get this -- i had the 9 boys gathered around me and i was talking to them about groundhog day and what it is, how we try to forecast the weather based on the hibernation of animals, blah, blah, blah... actually trying to teach them something... and the other leader turned off all of the lights in the room!! why??? i dont know! when the lights went out, the kids stopped paying attention to me, started saying 'wow' and 'ooooo' and then all ran around the room. i should have stopped trying to talk as soon as the room went black (i was also trying to reference a printed page that i could no longer see) but i continued trying to talk and engage the children but finally gave up in frustration. the kicker is that the other leader came over to the children, made them all sit up against the wall, scolded them for being 'rude' and not paying attention to me and made them all apologize to me. i was really fuming because it wasnt the kids fault at all! it was the fault of that frigging man who turned out the lights right in the middle of my 'talk' and then pushed the blame off of himself and onto the kids! GRRRR!!! i felt so disrespected by him and also felt bad for the boys, one of which is my own son. ::sigh:: ok, im going to lay down now.... :*carolyn. Guest guest
Why in the world would he have done that?! GRrr... sorry Carolyn I hope you feel better soon. I have been kind of bummed lately too. I think I have spring fever. Just tired of being in this house day after day... My boss called me yesterday and wanted to know if I was coming back to work in August. Of course I told him yes, but I am so unsure of what I will be doing. Guest guest
Okay, ladies, my massage therapist released me to do some light exercise today!!!! So count me in on the challenge for February! I'm starting a Hatha Yoga class on Thursdays, beginning this week since she okay'd it. Now I just have to figure out what to do tomorrow between work and school and editing my shows. HUM??? Does taking the stairs carrying my bookbag at school count??? It's 3 buildings, 2nd floor on one, 3rd floor on another, and typically 3rd or 4th floor on the parking deck? Nah, that probably doesn't count because I've been doing that every Monday and Wednesday since starting school. Guess I'll have to schedule some treadmill time while at the gym, or do some calestinics while editing. Guest guest
I can work up a good sweat cleaning my bathrooms. Especially the little one which is about the size of an outhouse. Its bend and twist and scrub and twist and stand and twist and bend and twist. And I wash the walls daily because I have a boy. So after the bend and twist maneuver it is the stand and twist and scrub time. I try to do it as quick as possible and can usually manage to scrub the whole thing from top to bottom in 15 minutes. Great fun. Of course the full sized bathroom has a bathtub to scrub and what is better for breaking a sweat than a daily scrub of the bathtub. Every time I do kickboxing I think darn that man (that man being my bf) for never helping in the house. Kick him, punch him, I’m exhausted and no matter how much I work in the house nothing looks done. More kicks, more punches, and if he could ever feed the kids a well balanced meal I would faint. More kicks more punches and it is amazing how he is always sick when there is work to be done or when I want to “cuddle” – I miss cuddling. Lots more kicks, gotta get all the aggression out so I can be a sweet lovable wife who says things like “how was your day today honey” and “would you like me to heat you some dinner dear” without ripping his throat out..lol He says for his birthday he wants me to be nice to him all day long so I guess I’ve not been doing the sweet lovable wife thing very well. I told him for my birthday I wanted him to go on vacation. Now if that isn’t love what is? lol You can also get a good leg workout by climbing up and down stairs with baskets of laundry. Or squatting and doing the frog walk as you pick up toys etc off the ground. And personally I like to shimmey and hip drop while I am doing dishes… I’ve recently taken to doing plies and releves when I put the dishes away (because the cabinets are so high so I practice as I take things out of the dishwasher and put them in the cabinets). It’s a pity that all a mom does daily doesn’t get that weight we carry from having kids off. From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Kassia Sent: Wednesday, February 01, 2006 12:33 PM Subject: Re: Jan and Feb Challenges housework should count as a workout LOL. i know its a challenge of arm strength to scrub whatever viola got on the tub and tiles. usually its soap or shaving cream that i ask dh to clean for me a thousand times over while I AM making dinner, washing dishes, and sanitizing the kitchen(i am a freak about the kitchen,i had gotten samonella sp?? before from ppl who didn't wash things after handling raw food). so lets see first you warm up with some straigthen up and cleaning of kitchen counters, then move to hurdles by jumping over toys and books left on the floor, move to some arm exercises by folding, carrying, and putting away laundry, then move to the tougher stuff with scrubbing, and if you want a leg workout kick dh around for not helping LOL. don't forget to stretch and now you have finished your clean max housework challenge. § kassia -- No virus found in this incoming message.
