Hi Gordon my point on getting on him is his arrogance ...I am a Catholic

also a republican also in need of information on antiaging... he sends

harsh anti religion posts with no regard to other people views or

beliefs... We can debate the merits of stem stem research ( i am for

it)without bringing in the pope or politics...he sends very informative

post (sorter of like the cow that gives a good bucket of milk and then

kicks it over)

Hi Gordon. How come you are not as active a participant on this

list as you were in anti aging? Let me take this opportunity to ask you

a question: Bob Cruder mentioned some time ago that he thought gh

injections would cause as much harm in people as they would benefits. I

asked him to substantiate that position with a study which showed gh

caused any negative side effects whatsoever when administered in a

low-dose, high frequency, cycled regiment. I don't believe any such

study exists, but I wanted to ask you -- do you know of any credible

study which shows that taking 1 i.u. or 1.5 i.u. per day with at least

one day off during the week produces side effect in people? I know of

only complaints about joint aches which clear up after about a month or

are lessened by further reduction in dose. This is important to me as I

have begun my rather modest gh regiment and I want to keep abreast of

all the risks. Thanks.

I agree with you about his tone, dave. One time bob posted a

statement about the side effects of gh wherein he purported to have a

basis for the statement. When I asked him to cite for me the

justification of his premise, his reply was: " you go look it up. " It was

as if he had ascended to such a level of authority that he could state

things as " knowledge " without having to fuss with what others might

think of the justification for his views. So, yes, he is arrogant. But I

suppose the best way to combat this is to ignore it. I agree with Gordon

that it is better to have arrogant people contributing information and

analysis as opposed to having properly-mannered people give us a bunch

of anecdotal stories. I do think, however, that when people assert

premises they should be able to provide their justification. This is the

only way people can make up their own minds and learn. No one should be

above that.

Whooo, (and Bob Cruder)

Too busy these days! Perhaps in a week or two things will slow down again so

that I can participate more.

Yes I would have liked to have engaged him there, but again I was too busy.

To my knowledge there is no evidence whatsoever that such a modest protocol

produces any dangerous side-effects.

If I had to criticize Bob it would be in that he seems biased as a result of

his apparent belief that these discussion groups are inundated with

overzealous users and profit-seeking promoters of anti-aging products. As a

result of this false perception he seems to feel an over-riding need to

debunk any idea that he thinks might possibly turn out to be only a popular

myth. Some such skepticism is healthy of course but I think his is excessive

and that it sometimes leads him to miss the mark. I think he sometimes tilts

at windmills, just as he did with n-acetyl-cysteine and then with growth

hormone therapy.

But oh well! Every group needs a skeptic to keeps things in balance and I

think Bob's biases are a small price for us to pay for his generally

excellent and informative contributions.

gts: I am grateful for the spark of truth that Mr Cruder's flinty rejoinders

provide, but, more so, for the lesson in moderation that you offer as a

guide to forum management.
