now-Codex, Monsanto, GMO, Long Term food storage

From an Organic Site I am on...Monsanto owns many of the seed companies,  the

seeds are GMO and the big thing is it is putting farmers out of business because

they cannot save seed from their harvest and it grow the next year.  It is

putting the farmers out of business and yes there are some committing suicide.  

Monsanto owns many seed companies and I am learning that they own other things

as well.  They had somehow spent lots of money trying to prevent Stevia being

approved for " open Market " or what ever it would be called.  Now they have sold

" Sweet & Low " or what ever it was they owned.  Theory has it they did not want

to be in on loosing a lot of money.  The  group where I am learning a lot

of this is the GardeningOrganicaly group.  What is funny is back in the summer

my husband was stressing that all this bad stuff was going to happen and we

needed to garden as much as we can and learn about longterm storage.  Well, I

was not sure

how much I believed what he was saying, then on the same day on the Edible

Container Gardening Group and the Gardening Organically group the moderators

posted about we need to be prepared, we need to be doing long term food

storage.  Needless to say my heart dropped to my knees I will say.  Then i knew

this was for real.  My husband just walked up and read some of my post, we had

already discussed the Monsato a bit in regards to this post he said go to

www.infowars.net for lots of info.  Now I will be honest, I do not know if I

think all this stuff that says is going to happen will happen, but I do

know that some of what he has been saying would happen has happend. 

 

Sorry so long!  But I want people to be prepared.  GMO seed will not produce

well when saved from a harvest and replanted.

Just curious.... what do you folks make of the Codex? And all the talk about 6

or so corps. now controlling all the seed.  There is talk of farmers in other

countries committing suicide in numbers. I also heard that GMO is becomng

a problem on the Big Island. Wondering if you think it is a bunch hype and fear

mongers at work.
