Guest guest
LOL,,, ok, the are suspended with the toothpicks , half in the water. Thought maybe I just got some bad ones. They are from organics so I had hopes. But after about three weeks now, my hopes began to fade. Thanks, Thai... I will keep waiting for signs of life. Guest guest
Since most modern avocados are hybrids, it is nearly impossible to get fruit from a tree started from seed. Buying a tree is the best bet. If you know how you can graft onto the root stock that you are starting in your window. There are some great dwarf avocado trees now. Check your local nursery for one that will grow in you neighborhood. ew growing avo's from pit (Adrienne) Date: Fri, 9 Jan 2009 15:56:27 -0500 Avocados take a *really* long time. I've done two this past year, and one took about two months and the other about three and a half, before showing any signs of activity. Just keep changing the water! (prop up the seed over a glass of water by putting three or four toothpicks into the side of it. rest toothpicks on rim of glass. have water come up at least third way up seed.) One of the two didn't make it after it sprouted, the other I started in may last year, is only about a foot tall now. Avo's are a true test of patience! :~) Thia On Fri, Jan 9, 2009 at 1:49 PM, Adrienne o <artnuwa11@...>wrote: > > No luck w/ any avacado I have tried..... > > Regards, > > Adrienne > >
