Iris Mathers -- aka iris_aroma -- Congratulations!

Please email me privately with your address, and I'll notify Butch of

http://av-at.com and he'll send a copy on your way. As a shameless plug for

Butch and his wonderful, tested essential oils and absolutes, I have to say

I've been ordering from him for years, and his aromatics are excellent. His

reputation for oil purity and standards are among the best in the business.

He also carries fixed oils, hydrosols, and a lot of Turkish products not

related to perfumery, but fun, nonetheless.

Thank you to all of the group members who were unafraid to come forward

with their most embarrassing sensitization or allergic reaction issue

regarding the unwise use of our beloved aromatics. It takes a lot of admit

stupidity or ignorance in public (and I was first in the " why in the hell

did I do that? admissions ! ;-) but it will go a long ways towards making

an impression on fellow group members, and hopefully, helping them avoid

dermatological and respiratory problems in the future. Additionally, Salaam

told us the sad tale of the kitty hurt by the thyme oil, which is another

cautionary tale of a different sort, on how to be sure what you're using on

animals won't harm them (more in the realm of aromatherapy than natural

perfumery, but still wise to pay attention to.)

Our lucky winner of a copy of Plant Aromatics, the best, the only manual of

its type with well-researched safety studies all in one place for quick

reference for your blending needs?

Thank you for all who participated, and those who already have Plant

Aromatics and took the time to write about their unfortunate experiences

with unwise use of aromatics, because it's all about helping each other in

our fragrant pursuits, and having fun and keeping safe while doing it.
