Guest guest
Gorden, If you remember a while back I shared that my Endocrinologist would not treat on (62 IGF-1) alone.. She administered a pituatary stimulation test using L-Dopa orally and checked direct GH levels (blood draw) every 1/2 hour after that for a few hours.. I believe the minimum standard after stimulation had to be >5.0 to be normal.. Mine came back <0.5 every time, which means, a non measurable amount. The HMO refused to treat because that same day my IGF-1 level had crept back over 90, which by there standards was exceptible. Un-believable, Marty *Does anyone else have official info on what criteria actually qualifies for GH defficiency???? -----Origi nal Message----- From: gordon <gts@...> Rejuvenationegroups <Rejuvenationegroups> Date: Sunday, May 14, 2000 7:00 AM Subject: Re: [Rejuvenation] Edmund Chein >I didn't mean to sound unsympathetic to Dr. Chein's situation, but the >specific merits of his case and the question of whether he is really a good >man or a bad man are not in themselves very critical in comparison to the >crisis this could create for the entire industry. > >Dr. Chein stands accused of misdiagnosing growth hormone deficiency (GHD), >and of failing to administer the proper tests to diagnose GHD.
