Panic about alcohol

<< But the after shock up the nose with this pure alcohol is awful- I've

just made a little test batch and don't like what this proper alcohol

is doing to the blend - all I get is an overwhelming alcohol sting.>>

Hi ,

I put a bit benzoin resin in the perfumer's alcohol (small dallop about

the size of a pea) in each quart.

It did dissolve after a little while. I know you're supposed to let this

sit for months, but, since I didn't have months to wait I started using it

right away. I noticed an imediate improvement, even after only a couple of

days. I also understand that Benzoin acts as a fixative, so I am very

pleased.

Hi

There is a lot of information in the archives about filtering with

charcoal, adding aromatics to mellow out the alcohol, and recently, about

adding rosewater to the final step to soften it. Just go to messages, and

type in a search word to find the posts.
