AD: Ojai Lavender Festival Workshops

The Ojai Lavender Festival is pleased to offer a variety of special seminars on

Sunday, June 5, designed to complement the festival experience. This year our

lineup includes:

Debbie Freund: Aromatherapy for Caretakers.

Debbie, clinical aromatherapist and owner of Scents and Scentibility, will

explore the fundamentals of olfaction, how essential oils work, and how they can

enhance the quality of life in people with the big three causes of illness and

death in the US; cancer, heart disease and infection, as well as the caregivers

working with these patients. The chemistry and therapeutic values of lavenders

will be covered and each participant will take home one essential oil blend made

in the hands-on segment of the class. Held at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, 9am -

Randy Murray - Xeriscaping with Lavender: Culture and Companion Plantings

Randy is a noted grower of lavender and other herbs in New Mexico. He joins

us to exuberantly teach how to combine lavender with other plants in the

Southern California landscape. Held at New Oak Ranch, 9am - 12N

Jillian - The Spa Gardens

In this demonstration/class, you will learn Spirit brightening techniques for

self-care and explore ways to create quick, fresh and joyful treatments to

lavish yourself daily in bath, body, hair and soul with lavender and other

garden beauties. You will take home infused oil of lavender, bath salts and a

salve as well as a free CD-ROM of The Spa Gardens e-book. Held at The Ojai

Valley Inn & Spa, 1pm - 4pm

Sharon Shipley - A Purple Passion: Cooking with Lavender.

From the author of The Lavender Cookbook (Running Press, 2004), recently named

2004's Best Single Subject Food Book in the World: Learn how to incorporate the

heady flavor of lavender into new favorite dishes for special occasions and

everyday. Includes a tasting menu. Held at the historic Amestoy House in the

Upper Ojai, 1pm - 4pm
