Diorissimo was my first favorite perfume too (besides my mom's precious bottle of Joy)- I was about 11. My best friend had a bottle and I always adored it and I convinced my mom to buy me a bottle. It is a very young and innocent scent. My favorite men's cologne as a young teen was the scent of my friend's older brother....OMG.... Eau Sauvage. !!!!!!! The scent of forbidden love. lol.... Even Dior's lipstick smelled great.

Guest guest
Lifes' synchronicities are so mysterious. How did we even hear about Eau de Sauvage . Why would we smell men's perfumes, was it because we had to smell Canoe , or Aramis, or Bay Rhum. I've always loved mens colognes the best. Thanks for your response . Fun sharing our common scent history. Alison

Alison, Your story of how you bought Diorissimo was lovely! I am very curious to see how the vintage and the new one compare... Is that the parfum you bought or the EDT? Diorissimo was one of my frist fragrances too. I got it from my x-mother-in-law before my wedding, and wore it on my weddind day and honeymoon. Needless to say it was in the spring! I love Diorissimo, but because of the weddign association I don't wear it often. I have the real parfum now, and gave my EDT away (it was too heady for me). The parfum has more depth and you can smell the other notes better so it's not so lilly of the valley dominant - Galbanum, jasmine, ros, boronia. It also suppose to have calyx in it. But I don't know how calyx smells like. It is a true classic and it's too bad Dior are not really making good perufmes anymore. Roudiska (the perufmer who created Diorissimo) also created Eau Sauvage, Miss Dior and Diorella - they are all GORGEOUS! He also made Femme for Rochas. One of my favourite perufmes (in the parfum fro - the EDT and the EDP are a bit overwhelming at times though very beauitful and full of cumin!).
