What part of California are you in? I am in Los

Angeles. Been through four Svc Coordinators with the

Regional Center in three years!

I cannot find the prices at the ezon site, will look

further. The one you mentioned you purchased looks

like what I need but who would do the bolting, etc?

I doubt I could handle having my son in the front

seat, I would be too distracted and probably have an

anxiety attack or something!

Hello All:

I have found information that there are two booster

seats out there that have five point harness for kids

up to 60 pounds.

The problem is trying to find them.

They are:

Fisher-Price Futura 20/60

Britax Super Elite

Oh one more thing.

It really burns me up that when I get to the Britax

site I click on the link for special needs and here is

the seat for $450.:

Thanks for the Ebay listing. I did a search there

last nite and could not find anything. I only signed

up there last week and still trying to figure out how

I get money into my paypal account. It should be

verified this week.

I did send off a question to the seller, asking if the

seat was in a smoke-free and pet-free environment.

With my asthma there is no way I would want it

otherwise.

I did not bid as I need to talk to kids father this

afternoon to get money and show it to him. I am

hopeful that maybe since the seller is in the same

part of the regiona as me I might have a chance of

getting it.

I have to see what the ex will want to pay and then

bid.

Bonnie,

Are you registered with DDD? If so call up your case manager and ask her for $ to buy a really expensive special needs car seat, such as the ones here http://www.adaptivemall.com/allcarseats.html and get what you can out of them. Make it sound like an emergency, child is in danger etc. If he/she says no, write them a formal letter requesting the funds along with a letter from your pediatrician.

For anyone else who has a big kid who needs a car seat but can use the shoulder strap, this seat is supposed to be the tallest available, http://www.babyuniverse.com/pro.asp?id=14310 & rc=00385724223586631166 this is just a site that sells it, it's called the "komfort rider". My son is 8 and 81+ lb.s and 52 inches. This seat goes up to 60 inches. He's growing out of his current booster so I think this one will be next for us.

I don't know where you are located at but here in

Washington state people on DDD usually have access to

something called family care dollars. We get $1300.00

a year to buy adaptive equiptment for our son. They

have a very broad definition of " adaptive equiptment, "

last year we bought him a big wooded playground to

fill his vestibular stimulation needs. Check into it

where you live. Good luck.
