Guest guest
Hi everyone! I am new to the group, thanks for having me. I make homemade cp soap, lotions, creams, bath salts, etc. I have been using synthetic fragrance oils, but am now very interested in the use of essential oils and making perfume and cologne. I do have a question. When making alcohol based perfumes, can you use hydrosols instead of distilled water? I am looking for a way to create a perfume of some of the prohibitively expensive eos such as rose and neroli. Thanks in advance, Deidre

I have used the hydrodistilled hydrosols and regular steam distilled hydrosols and found the eau de toilettes turn out beautifully. I have not used them for eau de parfum. It should be the same thing...Just play with the hydrosols maybe adding some water also. Experiment. Welcome Deidre. JoAnne Fresh and alive essential oils bought direct from the source.
