Hello everyone;

When do your gastric bypass post-op patients start their

multivit/mineral regimen? Is it immediately after discharge?

Thank you,

Our center requires that they start

vitamin and mineral supplementation immediately post-op and it has to be in

chewable or liquid form.

We try to get everyone started on their supplements prior to surgery, then they

start them up again once they get home. We have them take chewable, crushed or

liquid for the first 2 weeks.

we start them pre op to get them in the habit and to make sure they are

in the best health they can be prior to surgery.
