Just to make it clear. SAIF explained to me this morning that a patient cannot be referred out of the office. It doesnt matter if the LMT bills for it. They made it pretty clear that the patient is NOT to go anywhere other than your office for massage therapy AND, they also say you(the doctor) are supposed to be supervising.

I've had many folks respond directly to me about this and from what i've seen perhaps many of you are also confused on this issue, so i suggest calling SAIF for yourselves. Perhaps you'll get a different answer. I suspect not though. Like i said, this isn't my first rodeo .
