Guest guest
Have a pt. with 2 whiplashes 6 months apart. Typical neck pain and durable headaches; meaning his head aches all the time settling to a 3 and jumping up to a 9. By the end of a day driving to meetings and selling his left scm is in noticeable hypertonicity; dang near pulls his neck over to his shoulder. Subsides overnight and is gone in the morning. It is non-tender to touch when not in spasm. Functions fine. Can lift his head. No associated lymph nodes acting up. No backup of lymph or saliva, etc. Thoughts? On a different note: (I had a different pt. last week who was driving and eating an apple- without a hands free apple device haha- and her throat swelled up so much she thought she was stung by a bee. MD said it was IDK (I don’t know) but gave her antibiotics and Benedryl. It turned out to be a crystalized gob of parotid gland juice blocking the duct causing “el balloono, el grando glando”! Weird! Self limiting but you cannot have too much medication!) E. Abrahamson, D.C.
