Guest guest
Hi again e. I am doing better now, started biking 1-hour trips again yesterday, and will bike all summer whenever my health allows it, hopefully every day. Yes, that nebulizer is a good one and has changed my life. The anxiety about getting asmathic attacks is reduced after getting it and now I participate in activities, as amusement parks, go for longer walks, have occasionally been to cinemas, bikes into the forest, etc. When it comes to autogenic training I have used it for a long time to succeed with exams. However, after every exam, I have stopped using it, and unfortunately, sometimes I forgot it for longer periods. I learned autogenic training from a physiotherapist when pregnant and was having an exam in the 28.th week. It calmed all of me because it affects the nervous system. Both exams and pregnancy were pleasant and good experiences. There are different versions of autogenic training. Since I have no muscle pain I prefer the programs with the tightening of all muscles – and then total relaxation – heavy and warm legs and arms – and deep relaxed breathing while imagine having control, seeing myself loosing and winning while staying relaxed and in control etc. Repeat the following sentences: I am CALM, RELAXED, and SECURE and I TRUST MYSELF. Repeating this very many times during the 20-30 minutes of training and at other times during a day if needed. It is relaxing whenever stressed. This training has become a part of my life (lifestyle) and it is easy to generalize the technique. It is often very tough biking uphill and home after being at the office. I make new goals to reach on the path every time and then repeating telling myself the same things as in autogenic training, ‘you are strong’, ‘you can make this’ ‘now I was very good’, ‘good girl’, ‘I am strong’, ‘very very good, now I did well’ etc. Lol .. It seems a little naïve to believe in such simple self-reinforcements, but it works well for me. A few years ago, (after practicing this program for some time) I went to a psychologist that is specialized in biofeedback. She measured tensions, temperature, skin resistance, and showed how my body temperature actually and literally increased due to imagination. What an amazing knowledge. It is a very good example on how mind actually influences body very immediately and directly… Wow…It is very important to think in the right ways, the right thoughts about how one wants the body to function and to influence the whole life/health in the right direction. It is easier said than done, but it is worth the time and practice. Best get well wishes and regards from Lara (The best things in life are free!!) Ariadnexxxx2@... wrote: Hi Lara... Thank you for the site. I printed it out. Terrific nebulizer would be so much more convenient for me. I'm going to show it to my doc when I see her next time. Was interesting to me that you brought up the Augtogenic training. A few months ago this came up in conversation with someone I know personally..so now I'm very interested in investigating. My understanding is that this technique has some proven success. I have not tried it yet.. so I decided it was well worth it and ordered an instructional CD so I can practice the technique. Thank you for mentioning. How are you doing? Ariadne... It is very silent and easy to use, but you have to be very careful with cleaning it with sterile water after every use and also boil sterile water a few times each week to sterilize the mouthpiece adapter, mesh cap, and medications cup. It is important not to boil those parts, only place them in the water for 10-15 minutes. http://www.natlallergy.com/allergy/products/cart/display/view_one_spread.txt/spreadid/1543/page/Omron_MicroAir_VMT_Portable_Asthma_Nebulizer_Model_NE-U22V.htmlThe good thing by using a nebulizer is that you really get the medication (I use Ventoline) properly a passive way which means that you do not have to stress up your airways with blowing out air first. I am sorry to see that you have a burn out. gave me the idea of contacting a disabled –group. There are some such groups for people with asthma and allergy, so I will try to show up at their location. Hopefully there are possibilities to join the other ones in an anti-stress workshop. I know that Autogenic training is very effective over time to fight burn-out and to enhance the energy level. It sound somewhat paradoxical, but learning this way of relaxation actually enable most people to cope and work harder/better. After forgetting to use it in over a year it is time to restart again. Some good things in life are actually FREE, believe it or not and at the top of that it works. I have mentioned here before. Now I have to continue with my gym. Hope that you will recover really soon e.
