Ok, day 4 of my challenge, " cardio day " , my problem today is that my

leg muscles were so sore from yesterday's workout that I couldn't

keep up on the treadmill... I almost rolled right off the back!! I

couldn't drop the pace either, otherwise it really wouldn't have

counted as a true HIIT cardio workout. Does anyone have any advice on

how to avoid this problem in the future... Is there some sort of

remedy that will help with this???

I have heard that glutamine helps, but it also gets better with time

as your muscles get used to working out. The best thing is what you

did, just do what you can on the treadmill and work some of the

lactic acid out of the muscles.

I avoid cardio machines which require me to stand up the day after a

lower body workout! Try using the bike instead when you feel like

that. Once your muscles get warmed up it feels fine.

Who says you can't reduce the pace and still be getting a HIIT cardio

work-out? You are still in the beggining stages of your cahllenge and

are still trying to find you intensity levels, it only makes sense

that you may not have been able to achieve your original intensities

after a LBWO. Next time reduce the speed, don't hurt yourself! In no

time you will be in the swing of things and you will easily be

increasing you intensity levels.

Good Luck.

After my grueling lower body workout on Wednesday, the treadmill

yesterday morning actually seemed good. I think it stretched out

some muscles that were so, so sore. My hamstrings are still killing

me especially when I go down stairs. I'm just hoping it will go away

in a few days but wonder come Monday when I do my lower body workout

if I'll be able to do the exercises! We'll see. Hang in there!
