That's the one I was going to suggest as well. For some real inspiration, check

out the lady under the profile " sizzle " . I met her when I started my first

challenge in January of 2003 and she was over 200lbs. This was in the beginning

of last year. She is now 10lbs less than I am (she currently weighs 148). She

has changed so much, not just physically, but mentally as well. When BFL

Tracker had the chat feature, she was a source of motivation for me, as well as

the girl under the name " le " . I'm almost ashamed to show my face now

because back when I met those two, I was having fabulous results with BFL and

really happy. I'm now back up to my pre-BFL weight, fat, and unhappy. I went

and did cardio the other day and couldn't believe that my upper body was

actually sore from moving my arms back and forth during the cardio session. I'm

so embarrassed that I've let myself get to this point and I can't seem to find

my motivation that I had last year. I keep looking at my

photos from when I finished my first challenge, wishing I still looked like

that. I don't know where to look for inspiration and motivation anymore. I

can't fit into my clothes and I'm tired all the time.

Sorry this turned into a sob story....sigh...I'm just very unhappy with myself.

I used to post here last summer, when I was going strong and my photos are under

" Challenge #2 " . Although I've taken all my photos, weighed, measured, tried new

recipes from EFL, planned my workouts, and done the bodyfat, I just can't seem

to get going. Anyone have any suggestions for me to kick my butt into gear?

It's starting to affect my marriage because I'm not happy with myself. I don't

want to walk around naked anymore in front of my husband and even though he

tells me I'm beautiful and sexy, I have a hard time believing it when I don't

like myself. I get winded just tying my damn shoes and get tired walking to

class. When I'm in clinicals, I feel like a big, fat marshmallow (it doesn't

help that all the nursing students have to wear all white!). If I don't do

something soon, I will be wearing my scrubs all summer long because no way am I

showing my legs in the condition I'm in now!!!!! I'm

very frustrated and angry with myself all the time.

UGH...................................I feel like crying when I see myself in

the mirror. Please, if anyone has any words of wisdom or advice, pass them

along to me....I need it.

OMG ,

You are my inspiration! I go look at you photos periodically.

My story is similar, I did awsome on my first BFL challenge, I only

lasted 6 weeks on strict diet and training, diet was the first to go.

I maintained my BFL training schedule for another 4-5 months, then

life got busy and well I dropped it all.

I got really upset about a year and a half ago as I had ballooned to

175 lbs and I tried again, 6 weeks into it I gave up. Two more half

hearted tries in 2003. And now I am at it again.

I got up to 195, in my first challenge I was at about 150 and wearing

a size 9, I thought I was fat and I was frustrated that I wasn't

making progress fast enough. Now I wish I was there again.

For me this challenge has been about completing 12 weeks, regardless

of the results, atlthough I am happy with my results so far, I am

just finishing week 8 and I have lost 12 lbs and 13 inches. My

clothes fit better and my self esteem has improved.

I know I am not going to be where I would like to be at the end of

this 12 weeks but I will be in a much better place then where I

started. I just keep repeating 'progress not perfection'.

I hope you can just keep plugging away because I need to see your

next set of after pictures and your set after that and so on...It

gives me hope that I can one day look that good.

Hope I don't sound too schlocky, but it's true.

I have my pictures posted on BFL tracker under MissS

Good luck

OK now this is too weird,

I got to the part of your post where I realized your were

the 'Challenge 2' girl and I had to post. Then I read the rest of you

post after I posted.

Strange but true, I just finished my BSN, that's the " life got busy "

part. Nursing school makes you fat I swear! I had only finished one

semester when I couldn't keep up with everything and I met my BF, who

I am still with, God love him, he still thinks I am sexy too (what a

weirdo). I have only been out of school since last August and I am

already planning on going back for my masters, guess I am just crazy!

So here I am, in a similar boat. If there is anything I can do to

help cheer you on let me know.

,

I'm glad it's not just me!!! I have gained so much weight since nursing school.

I'm beginning to understand why there are a lot of overweight, unhealthy nurses

running around!!

And now I've started working in the ICU at our hospital 2 days a week. They are

12 hour shifts so working out will be a bit more difficult, but I will

consolidate workouts if I have to. I have to be at work at 6:30am and work

until 7pm. I don't really think I will be up to workout out at 7:30/8pm after

workout for 12 hours. I go to school Mondays and Tuesdays from 6:30am to

12:30pm, then on Tuesdays, I have class from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. So that day will

also be tough, but I'll manage.

Me and another nursing student are going to do BFL together. She's kind of been

doing it, but not by the book. She's frustrated because she's not seeing

results, but she's also not doing the cardio correctly, nor is she really

pushing herself with the weights. So I think with the two of us workout out

together, it will be motivating. Plus, I'm VERY competitive so that will help

too. We both have about the same amount of weight to lose.

Thank you for the encouragement and letting me know I'm not alone out there in

the world of nursing. I am only in my 2nd semester, 1st year, so I have another

year to go. I can't keep packing on the pounds like this or scrubs will the the

ONLY thing I can fit into!!!!

What you might want to do is schedule your free workout for a day you

are working a 12 hour shift and then workout on your free meal day.

When I get slammed at work with proposals, it's the only way I've

managed to get all the workouts in.

There are sooooooo many unhealthy nurses out there! That shift work!

Ugggh. Oh and the treats, I mean thank you all for appreciating the

work we do but could you give us a veggie plate instead of

chocolates, or butter tarts or....

I'l tell you what I do, I do not work out on my 12 hour day shift

days. I do work out on my 12 hour night shift days, nights are

quieter and you get all your breaks at once so you can have a short

nap. I generally do work out on my free day and I often double up at

least 1 work-out a week if not 2. I always get in 3 cardio and 3

weight training work-outs a week.

I bring a shake as well as my lunch and dinner to work and I have a

bar in my back-pack at all times in case of an eating emergency.

You can do this! Just modify it to fit your life. It may take a

little longer to get the results you want, but it's worth it. That's

great that your friend is doing it too, more moral support!

I know you probably don't feel this way but school will be over in no

time, and your lucky! My program was 4 years straight through, no

breaks! Yours is done in 2 years!

Good luck , you can do it!
