Guest guest
I'm not but grew up about 45 minutes from SF, in Pleasanton. We got temps in the 90s and 100s in the summer quite often there. Is this true...and if so...how far south would you have to drive to get to an area that reaches 80 degrees in the summer? > I love NYC but thinking about trying out the west coast! Thanks! >
Guest guest
I live in Santa Cruz, about 45 minutes South of San Francisco. It gets about 90 degrees here in the summer and since Santa Cruz is right on the coast, we always get a nice breeze from the ocean. I have to say that this place has the most perfect weather year round! > > Hi (and any other Northern Californians), > > This is way off topic, but I was reading about San Francisco and I > read somethign that said that the highest temp it reaches is around > 70 degrees?? Guest guest
Hi everyone First let me say to those that are new here that I am updating on a problem that almost certainly has nothing to do with , although our son seems to have had as well. Since some of you have been following this saga and have been very supportive I thought I would fill you in on what's been happening lately. After the " failed " gastro doc visit and a lot of discouragement we were contacted by our Rheumy doc to tell us that the gastro doc wanted to take Hans in for a day of blood tests, before eating, after eating etc to test his metabolic function. Apparently in the blood tests done at our last visit they found that his total blood cholesterol was down. They also found that his blood PH was off and that he had too many bicarbonates - apparently a consequence of the persistent vomiting. The gastro doc also prescribed a proton pump inhibitor (acid reflux medicine) to settle his tummy and hopefully stop the vomiting (which isn't permanent, but comes in 4-5 day episodes, every week or second week. Often when he isn't vomiting he has headaches.) So we are feeling that we are finally making some progress even if we find the gastro doc's behaviour somewhat difficult to understand. She also said in her letter to us that she remained open to the possibility of doing an endoscopy. They spoke briefly about these tests hopefully showing what Hans is doing with protein. So you can imagine we are at least feeling relieved to see that something is happening. Thanks once again for listening. The support of this group is invaluable. Take care Debbie, mum to Hans, 13, (which is in remission or gone!) + ?? South of France

Guest guest
Debbie, I am SO glad to hear this news! My whole family has been praying for Hans, as well as some of my friends. We'll continue to do so. Let's hope this leads to a much happier and healthier time for him!
