Guest guest
I have a ProBell set that I just absolutely love!! I looked at both the Power Block and the ProBells, before I bought mine, and found that the ProBells are easier and faster to change from one weight level to the next, and they " feel " more like regular dumbbells than the Power Blocks. However, Power Block now has a way that you can attach them to a bar to create a barbell. ProBells cannot do this, so I just work around that. One downfall to the ProBell is the cost compared to the Power Blocks, but if you go with the black instead of the chrome then they aren't as bad, plus if you can't find them from a local source, there are several companies that offer free shipping. I love it that they don't take up hardly any space and now I can do my workouts at home with my Nordic Track and my ProBells. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Christy in Indiana Power Block vs. ProBell Hey guys. I am new to the message board and just starting my Body for Life program. I have been working out at the gym but want to set some things up at home to use when I can't go to the gym and hopefully involve my husband. I have been looking at the space saving dumbell systems Power Block and ProBell that allow you to quickly adjust the weight size and do your workout while not taking up much space. Has anyone tried or purchased these products? I'd like to know the pros and cons of them versus the regular stack... thank you _____
Guest guest
Hey, we have the Power Blocks. We got out Blocks for free, on loan from a friend, and they are a bit odd for doing some excercises. However, they are great for others, such as my deadlifts, because I can use both hands to grip the weight. I looked up the ProBells just now and they look pretty sweet. The only issue I can see they may have is if the dial system breaks. Blocks use a metal bar to hold them together so they are less likely to break, but they are a bit harder to change. If you can, go to a fitness store and try them out. Wear your workout gear and try a few excercises with each set. It really helps when you are choosing something like this to try it out in action, get a true sense for how they work. This is no time to be shy, get in there and try them out. Then, you can find the cheapest price anywhere you want. and I do this with everything from software and game to clothing and it really works great. Make sure the set fits you and how you work out. You are doing this for you and your health, be sure to use it! =) -MsPea (who wishes she could buy all new stuff.....today! =)
Guest guest
I haven't tried them but try doing a search on the archives. The handles or way you grip them are a bit different and one set I believe you can get higher weights with. Colleen > Hey guys. Guest guest
There is also a set that will go up to 60lbs, which can be seen at the website www.powerblock.com <http://www.powerblock.com/> . Of course they cost more. For myself I have a set of ProBells that go up to 18lbs in 3lb increments. That is plenty for just me right now. I will probably get the 30lb set when I completely outgrow the 18lb. As for the guys, I'm not sure. would probably be able to answer this one.
