I am new to this site and I am wondering why everyone is just taking

flax seed oil and not all of the essential fatty acids oil dosage. I

am trying to decide which to take. My son has speech apraxia. A

study by Dr. Stordy (wrote The LCP Solution) has documented that

ProEFA is the best essential oils supplement to take because it has

EPA, DHA, Borage Oil and GLA. I heard that it was important to take

a combo. From what I read in this article

http://www.cherab.org/information/dietaryeffects/efatips.html

Flax seed oil is only an omega-3 oil and during processing it can

only yield 10% of it's benefit. I am now trying to figure out the

benefit of taking flax seed oil in comparison to a combo of essential

oils. I have been reading up on essential oils since year 2000

because they are supposed to help development. Take a look at this

look at this website about EFA's.

Sunshine, I know that I didn't answer your question :(. I hope I

gave you some good leads. This is sorta of a work in progress. I

seem to have added on to your question. Great question about the

peanut butter!

I have read that one should avoid dairy fat in the same manner one

avoids fat from meat....it's all animal fat.

1 tbsp is what most of us take, altho I think some take 2.

You can use PB instead of flax if you choose. Just make sure you

aren't adding too many EFAs.

If I use cheese I use the lowfat version. The ff is higher in carbs

and doesn't do much taste-wise for me and the regular is too much fat

for me. I only have cheese about 1-2 times a week but I see in the

new EFL book Bill has string cheese listed as authorized (I'm using

the old BFL food list).

Thanks Collen, that's probably why I'm seeing no change with the Flax

(I was only taking 1tsp LOL). I don't do cheese much either, my kids

LOVE quesidillas (so do I) and when I make them for them I have to

have one and that's really about the only time I have cheese, unless

I mix it into rice and chicken or beef, it's pretty yummy! And it's

always been fat free, I may change to the low fat :o)

Gosh, I didn't think you could eat too much peanut butter ;o) So

maybe 1 Tbsp of flax and 1 of peanut butter :o)
