Oh, I have to write to these people (I'll also invite them to join the

group.) Last week I busily organized all my oils. Quite a job. I got 3/4 "

white disk labels and with a bold black marker, put the first three letters

of the common name of the oil on the cap top. Then the oils went into the

plastic shoeboxes according to type -- herb, floral, citrus, etc. There

were in the separate boxes before, actually, just not so well labeled.

While doing this I came across some " Alpine Lichen " oil I purchased in

Berkeley about 30 years ago. Y'all know I squirrel away oils, under good

storage conditions, so the oil, about 3/4 gone, was still wonderful. Has a

spearmint note to it. It is in a suspension, one oil over the other, so it

has to be shaken. Lichens are a symbiotic relationship between an algae and

a fungi, so that makes sense.

And the label says the perfumer was " " , same name as the man in

Burren (just a weird coincidence, but nice.)

Dyslexia strikes again:

I was reading another article on another browser at the same time, and the

guy mentioned there was , not in the Irish perfumery article.

What a wonderful article! Thank you, Jen for sharing it. Makes me wish I

were there!

Hi everyone. My name is nne and I joined this list a couple of days

ago. I'm very interested in learning about natural perfumes. I've worked

with herbs and essential oils for well over ten years and it was mostly

studying how plants can help us when we're ill, stressed out, etc. This

seems like the perfect place to learn about another aspect about plants

and essential oils.

Blessings,

nne
