Guest guest
Thank-you Kim! Do you have only protein before bed? If so, I will try this. Also, I'll watch for simple sugars. Well, over here at diabetes nutrition class they told me to have a bed time snack if I needed it but to make sure it was a mixed meal so carbs are balanced with protein. Here's the suggested menu they gave me: http://www.sirgalahad.org/roadtoorlando/2600.html HTH! A.

I don't eat very many. Protein shake is a really good one. Only a small amount of carbs in the form of fruit. And not too heavy. Kim

Yep, and that makes total sense for those who are truly diabetic. Diabetics have a tendency to attack their protein stores for energy, so giving them carbs for the body to " feed " on is important. But for those labeled " prediabetic " we haven't gone to that extreme quite yet, so it's not as important. Not to say it's NOT important to have some carbs, but not to the extent of true diabetics.
