Hi Lee,.....All my married life [33 yrs.] I wanted to live in a big farm house

on acreage in the country. Raise some kind of animals, and have a big 'ol barn.

My husband is a bonefied city boy so he didn't really pursue my dream as much as

I needed help to make

it happen. Then in 1981 I got sick, and as the illnesses progressed that dream

got pushed back to make room for other things. Raising the kids, husband career,

etc.

Well I still don't live on a farm, but I am in the country, and because of my

disabilities I hate it. I need to be closer to amenities. We bought out here

because at the time we couldn't afford anything closer in. Portland and the

surrounding areas are very

expensive to live there. But, we wanted to get out of a rental too so this was

our best deal. I had no idea I would get worse, so we didn't take that into

consideration. Being sick has caused me to have to give up quite a bit as all of

you probably know too well

with your illnesses.

Aurora is a little town close to Woodburn. About an hours drive south of

Portland. Bend is east of the mountains. About a 3 hr drive from me. Aloha is

West of me about a 45 min drive.

pick you up at your door, if you can't make it to the nearest transit stop.

We've thought about that, but my husband makes too much money for me to qualify

for state assistance, and we don't make enough to cover all our bills and hire

someone to come in. I am actually afraid to have someone move in.

Thanks for the suggestions, tho.....

The one thing we have been discussing is to move closer in where my husband

works, and closer to the kids. I even thought of an Independent Living facility,

which it probably will come down to that eventually. But we can't do that until

Max is gone because most

places won't take big animals, and besides he barks too much, and too loud if

they would take them. LOL......

live there too! It wouldn't have to be full-time help---maybe driving and

whatever else you needed?
