Guest guest
Hey Gloria - I think you definitely have hope of building up the miles by then. We have 6 months to work up to it. I'm going to work just to finish it without walking, not worry too much about time. The one I want to do I walked last year - Bellin Run in Green Bay, WI. I was in the Army National Guard for 6 years so I'm accustomed to running at least 2 miles for time and when I'm doing well in my 20-min HIIT I can get 2.7 miles in 30 minutes (with a 5 minute walk before and after). I noticed in another post a reference to a website called www.coolrunning.com . I checked it out and they have different training programs for different levels of fitness and a lot of suggestions. My big problem is the fact that I run on a treadmill. HUGE difference between treadmill running and running outside. I just don't do cold weather running (and I live in Wisconsin!). So hopefully by April/May I'll be able to get outside and see how well running on the treadmill is preparing me! Keep posting your progress and I will mine, too, OK? in WI Re: Digest Number 2273 > In a message dated 1/5/2004 4:50:04 PM Central Standard Time, > writes: > > > > So today I'm like you - just going meal by meal, trying to make it through > > to the next meal without bingeing on something. Guest guest
Hey add me to your watch list...I did a 5K last year and it was such an exhilerating feeling crossing that line...no matter what your time was. Well, actually I have NO idea what my time was due to me not having a watch and having to wait about 10 minutes for the crowd to die down so we could run (I did the Komen 5K which was also a walk)!! That was one downfall to BFL I found was not being able to really train the way I wanted to for runs. I will check out that site though, thanks. I'd like to work my way up to a 10K as well. My 1st goal however is the St. 's Day 5K so I need to get going! (and I'm with you...I'll never be 'that' person running outside in the cold. It was 7 degrees here today. No thank you.)
