Guest guest
I have the EFL book and copied the shopping lists straight out of the book (you can also download copies at www.eatingforlife.com <http://www.eatingforlife.com/> ). So I took those along when I went shopping this weekend, and I didn't but anything that wasn't on the list, except for some sugar-free popsicles for my kids.so I am pretty well stocked to start off tomorrow. I have also been stocking up on my Myoplex MRPs (regular and Lite). Believe it or not, I've gotten some great deals on eBay, of all places. Some of the things I've gotten are: Cottage Cheese - a requisite for me Apples Yogurt Salmon Orange Roughy Tuna Spinach Whole Wheat bread Non-fat or Low-fat cheese Yams Lots of Veggies Raspberries Sliced Turkey Whole Wheat Tortillas Brown Rice Oatmeal Fat Free/Sugar Free puddings (to flavor 'desserts') Eggs (lots since I prefer eggs over EggBeaters, and my dogs love the extra yolks!) Fat Free Sour Cream Fat Free Cool Whip Chicken (lots, because I love chicken fixed anyway it can be) Peas Ore-Ida Potatoes O'Brien (yummy) Venison (from the two deer my DH and I got this year) Good Luck and feel free to email me off Group for any questions on the above.. I usually count about 1 teaspoon for any of the 3. I'll usually make a salad for 2 people though so I add more into the bowl to compensate for the other person. I also forgot to add almond butter and peanut butter(real) to my list Some people on this list will tell you to not count flaxseed oil in your total daily calories but everything else I have read says that it is supposed to count since it is high in calories and to lose fat, you need to create a calorie deficit. Sometimes I get my 20% of fat intake just by eating regular foods. Opinions on this board do vary on this subject though but I think the above should be kept in mind Here's what I do.. I don't think most people do this. I've calculated how many grams of fat per day would equal 20% of my total daily caloric intake (32grams for a 1450 calorie diet). After eating clean for a while, I know how much fat is in what foods etc(I also use fitday.com every now and then to keep me in check).. -eve
