Guest guest
I have a patient who is slightly overweight (stomach out a bit and he sits at a desk all day). His xiphoid is painful to touch and pressure and angles out. I told him he could try holding a pad in place with ace bandage or a rib brace and in about 5 years it might reduce. I also got him a big exercise ball to sit at his desk so he sits up straighter. Any ideas? E. Abrahamson, D.C. Guest guest
Sounds to me likeyou are on the right track .... his hiatal hernia will be the trigger. Obesity and hunching are wonderful triggers for diaphragmatic stretching, lifting and non-holding of the xyphoid.
