Well, Hello HELEN!!!!!!!! How are YOU?? How are the girls???? I'm holding my own getting better every day. I was sick all of Dec with a nasty chest infection. It really hit fast and hard and lasted forever!!! In just three days i went from just a head cold, then to blood in my ears and it being in my chest then the next day i was coughing up blood and my lungs were terrible. Scared Nana...kinda scared me too because i had to *fight* the doctors to even get them to do a chest x-ray. They were just going to send me home!!! Stupid doctors, we have to live with our bodied you'd think they'd listen to us more!!!!I have 25 wonderful animals right now!!! We have the 6 chickens we got last spring (Wave, Ripple, Doily, Lace, Barbara and Sy), we now have 6 ducks all together 4 from last spring and our two we got the spring before (Ian, Ducky, Faith, Hope, Jo and Little B), my four monster goats (Shane, Noah, Owen, and Alannah), three cats....not sure how that happened since i don't like cats but this is a rescue farm i couldn't just leave them....(, Mr. Kitty and Kit-N-Caboodle...she is our kitten we just got before Thanksgiving), two dogs (still have my wonder dog Flint who just turned 11, and little Aisling (ASH-ling/ASH-lyn) she is my 6 month old pup i got in Oct.), we still have Benny our bunny who just turned 4, and that leaves Nana's two guinea pigs Charlie Brown and Lucy (both females lol no babies here!!!) and her horrible Attack Goose, Zachary!!!! Aisling means "dream" in Gaelic and Alannah means "darling" I've had dogs my whole life, but i've never gotten to raise one from a pup they've always been older when i've gotten them, and When the tech at our vet clinic handed Alannah to me she said "isn't she just darling"....and i totally agreed so they are my darling and my dream!!!Nana is doing pretty well!!! She still loves it here doesn't miss Ca at all!! I miss the kids, but i see them at least once a year and one of them comes out during the summer now so that's been great!!We've been pretty cold but starting to warm up. It was only 9*F Sunday morning when i woke up to get the monsters ready so i could leave for church. The snow we got finally all melted i wish we could get more!!! I already miss it!!!!Well, i need to make sure all the monsters are taken care of and OK to be left alone this afternoon i have to go to Duke...Pulmo appointment...joy joy lol!!!! You take care of yourself Helen!!! Give those beautiful girls a hug for me and no over doing it Helen!!!Jessi

Hey Dort!!! I'm glad you got some relief today at least!!!!! I'm bored lol all the chores around here with the animals are done, i've trained the pup for a bit she learned "heel" today. She's only 6 months but she is a SMART pup. By 5 months she was already sitting, laying down, waiting (stay), was crate trained and knew the words "table" and "chair". For those when i say "TABLE!" she runs to it and hits the table with her paw, same for chair if i say "CHAIR" she runs to it and hits it with her paw. She almost knows "SHAME!" when i say that she almost understand that i want her to cover her muzzle with her paw. she can also "crawl" and we are working on "pray" where she puts her paws on my arm or the bed and puts her head between her legs like she is bowing her head. I think i'll teach her "flea" next lol that is a fun one. You reward them for scratching and say "flea!!!" once they learn to do that on command you can say "Oh my Aisling is that a FLEA on you?!" and she will scratch! We are going to the training center today to enroll in some classes. I can teach her a lot, but i want her to get her CGC and TDI so she can be a therapy dog at the local hospitals. I'm also working on her being my service dog, i just need to wait longer and see if she keeps the wonderful temperament she has, they change so much their first year. She might not be the dog she is today, just months from now and that is fine :o) she will be wonderful in what ever she does!!! Well, off to get dressed and head over to the training center. Hope you have a good day!! Take care k!Jessi (and Aisling watching me type this lol)

Aisling hasn't been in any classes yet, i've done all her training so far, but i'm signing us up for a class today. Aisling (ASH-ling/ASH-lyn...depending on how proper you want to be lol) got her name because i've always had a dog growing up, hardly ever without one, but all have been older when they have come to me. I've helped raise other peoples pups but i've never had one of my own. Aisling was unwanted because she has a "defect" so when i was asked if i wanted her i said "YES!" since it's always been my dream to have a pup of my own to raise....she was named Aisling, it means "dream" in Gaelic :o) so no the Ling in her name isn't from Ling on the group :o) but we think of Ling a lot when we say Aislings name!!:o) Jessi

Hey Dort. Flint could have been a therapy dog, he is *very* sensitive to peoples feelings and knows when something is wrong. I can go away for a week to Ca to see the kids i use to take care of and see my doctors there and Flint will be fine, but if i'm in the hospital just over night he knows and gets very sick himself from stress. He never got his CGC or TDI because in Ca my doctors wouldn't let me. She didn't want me in the hospital any more then i had to be because my immune system was so much worse then. I can do it now though :o) and Aisling will have a ball!!!! She is a NUT around most people but we have a girl at our church that had a lot of strokes when she was a baby and Aisling is *wonderful* with her and we were out to lunch on day and a helper was helping a lady into a wheelchair but the lady wouldn't pay attention to what she needed to do because she kept watching Aisling so we walked out of sight until she was in her chair and then i asked her if she wanted to say HI to Aisling and when she nodded we went over. I wasn't sure how Aisling would take to the chair but she was a *perfect* dog, went right up to where the lady could reach and didn't jump or anything. I think Aisling is going to be very good. Border Collies are very sensitive dogs, both Aisling and Flint know when my b/p is really low and wont leave my side. Aisling also isn't afraid of my IV pole or neb when it is going off, even Flint is afraid of that...well he was when he could hear it lol.Jessi

Hey Dort. Nope Flint isn't jealous of the pup and the pup loves the wonder dog Flint. I would have found Aisling a good home if Flint the wonder dog had said he didn't want her here....he's really too old to have a pup around but he's enjoyed her a lot so far. I'm never on oxygen at home (knock on wood!!) and the IV pole is because i have a feeding tube. My feeding pump is connected to the IV pole, although it could clamp onto my bed "ok" the pole helps with the bags of formula. what do i have...hmm LOL depends on what doctor you talk to lol but my major problems are; severe asthma, severe GERD, possible VCD, NCS, POTS, migraines, poor weight maintenance i burn Cals. really fast and lose a lot of weight really easy and fast (that's why i have the feeding tube) i also have no "hunger" it is *very* rare that i feel hungry. They also go back and forth on agreeing or disagreeing with my lab work about lupus. ANA's are always different. Anyway i am way late for bed and the monsters get up EARLY. Take care Dort hope today (by the time you get this i'm sure it will be tomorrow lol) is a good day!!Jessi

**YOU SAID YOU WISHED YOU LIKED FOOD;; WHAT DO YOU EAT?? ARE THERE THINGS THAT YOU CAN AND CANT EAT???**Hey Dort. I've never been a good eater. I lived with my 'mother' (not to be mistaken a Mom or caring Mother) until i was almost 14 and placed with Nana. During that time i had no medical care. I've always had asthma and GERD and possibly even VCD. The GERD (reflux/heartburn) before i had surgery in 2000 was very bad (over 350 episodes in 22 hours) so the doctors think that from birth i've just put food and pain together. I'd eat when i was little but only what i had to, to get by. Still to this day it is rare that i feel hungry at all. To me food is just like one of my meds, i eat because i know i have to...i take the meds....because i know i have to. I eat three meals a day plus a snack or two but it's not enough to keep my weight up enough. When i get sick i lose a minimum of 7-10 lbs so they keep my weight up 7-10 lbs more then i need for my height so when i take a weight dive i'm not underweight and have *nothing* to pull from while sick. The feeding tube has just made my life a lot easier it's not a total fight with myself to eat a ton during the day and enough to keep my weight up with the tube i can eat as much as i'm able to and know that the rest of my cals. for the day i'll get at night though the tube. I have to eat at least 1,000 cals a day 2,000 is even better and then i get 1,000 cals through the tube feds at night. Hope that explains it! It's probably more then you wanted or needed lolJessi
