Guest guest
Hi Sharon, Glad to see you posting... Now First off, No one's illnesses are Trivial !!! We don't compare who worse off than the other person, we are here for all ) Got it! ) Now, you said you have rheumatoid arthritis through out your body, does it have hold of your hands and feet also??? Is that whats wrong with your back??? Or is that different??? We have many on here that have terrible back problems... Maybe with what you tell about your symptoms they can help you piece it together as to what might be going wrong... We have many that are unable to walk or have a difficult time doing so like yourself... Myself I was in a wheelchair two years ago, but Thankfully that is in storage at the moment and I only use my cane if I'm going to do a lot of walking at the zoo or such... Yayyyy!!! ) Do you know why you have breathing problems??? Has any Dr. ever put a label on it??? I have Emphysema... How are you a mild diabetic??? Do you have to just monitor what you eat??? Are you high or Low most of the time??? I'm hypoglycemic, low sugar... I get down in the 40's a lot, do to my own stupidity... If you aren't able to find out from a Dr., share with us the symptoms you have to go through with these things and we will help look up things to try and help you... Oh, I forgot to tell ya, I'm the nosey one ) I have been married 36 years, am 53 Had three children, four really, but misscarried one at 3 1/2 months, lost one daughter when she was 16 months old to Cellboid Cerebral Leukodystropy, our son is going to be 33 and our daughter is going to be 30... Three Grand Daughters... What kind of bears do you collect??? I collected Cherished Teddies for 10 years, then had to stop when hubby retired, I have over a thousand of them ) Am thinking of making stuffed bears for my great nieces and great nephews this year for Christmas, but haven't decided for sure yet... The girls (my grand daughters) have got to have uniforms for school this fall and I will have to make them, so don't know if I will have time to make 23 bears also, plus I am working on 8 queen size quilts for my siblings and one uncle and step mother and 19 throws for my nieces and nephews, I'm in my fourth year of working on them... I just finished three dresses for my sister in law for costumes that she wears at Sauters Museum where she weaves yarn... Its a history like place in Archabald for back in the good old days ) I see Wisconsins getting snow, how much do they expect you to get??? My brother lives up in the upper penninsila od Mich. and they are now in a winter storm warning... We are supposed to get severe thunderstorms today (fri) with possible tornados, also get up to 70 ) I can handle that!!! But not the storms, they make me nervous... Then back into the deep freeze Sun with snow ( Well I talked enough to tire ya out... Please DO post ) We don't bite ] Lots of Very nice folks on here... ((( PainFree Hugs ))) Helen Hello everyone! Thanks for the nice welcome!Lets see, i guess i can tell everyone alittle bit about me. I am 51, married for 17 and have 3 sons ages 27, 26, 16. Live in Wisconsin where right now we are waiting for a snow storm. Thought winter was on its way out!! Guess not.I enjoy reading, collecting cookbooks and recipes, spending time with my family, meeting new people, playing on the computer, spoiling my 2 cats which i just adore. Collect porcelain dolls, angels, teddybears and alot of other things. My medical contions seem trival compared to some of the others in this group. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis through my body, a great deal of problems with my back, it is really messed up but no insurance so there is no way i can have surgery on it, it is really hard for me to walk to far.I have breathing problems and i guess i am a mild diabetic. It is getting really hard with my back to walk to far and the arthritis tires me all out alot. I could also stand to lose some weight which i know would help the back problems.Well i guess i will go for now, hope everyone has a nice weeekend. Will try to post as often as i can, although i am rather quiet person and it is kind of hard for me to just jump in, so you all will have to be patient with me.Glad to be here!Hugs, Sharon One wordfrees us of all the weight and pain of life: That word is,Love! Guest guest
Hello Sharon- Welcome to the group. I just joined myself a week ago. You are the 3rd person I have met online from Wisconsin and 2nd one this year. So did you get snow? If so how much? I live in central Florida between Daytona Beach and Orlando. Last week it got up to 86 degrees and now thi8s week we are supposed to get as high as 76 all week but down to the 40's a few nights this week. I like it though. Going from winter temps to high 80's does not make me happy one bit. lol. I like to enjoy Spring temps first. hahaha Wow I bet your family loves eating your meals since you enjoy collecting cookbooks and recipes. What do you like to read? I read about 4 self help books last year between August and December but I am not reading anything right now. I will pick it up again sometime this year hopefully. Well I like to read daily mediation books actually they are simple to keep up with. I have never collected dolls but my mom has for a few years she did. I collect postcards. I belong to 3 swap groups online. I have gotten a lot of nice postcards. I have been collecting on my own for 20 years now but I just joined these swap groups last October. Rhumatoid Arthritis does not seem trivial to me. My Grannie had it and an online friend of mine has it and she is only in her 20's. How old were you when you got it? I injured my back in 2002 have no idea how but I was in excruciating pain for 2 months and I could not walk at all and taking a shower was so painful. Standing was painful what helped me was muscle relaxers. Since you do not have insurance have you thought about applying for Medicaid? It might be worth a try. I am not sure if you ever worked but if you have it might be worth a try applying for SSDI (social security disabilty insurance) as well. Well its just a suggestion. I hate to hear you suffering with the pain. Healing hugs if okay, melissa
Guest guest
--Hi , Thanks for the welcome. Wisconsin must be a pretty popular state huh? Although i don't know why, all we get is snow, snow, snow!!! It is about time for some spring weather i would say. Here we got another 7 inches this last Friday, kids got another day of school off. NOw they have to start making them up, they are alllowed only 2 days off for snow anything beond that and they have to make them up. Right now i am trying not to cook quite so good, i think we need a newyears resolution to lose some weight. The cooking is fairly easy for me as long as i don't have to stand, i work it out so i can sit alot. I never had much when i was a kid like for dolls, so i guess i am going back to my childhood, hahaha!! And we never had the dolls like there is now, they are all so pretty. I use alot of the muscel relaxers for my back, get alot of back and leg spaums( please forgive the spelling). My reumy told me that alot of times the arthritis will cause these. No we are over the income limit for Medicade. My husband gets Medicare cause he is disablied but there is something there cause he is getting it i can't. Besides we do newspaper delivery which is mine, although our one son does most of it to h elp us out. Thanks anyway for the idea. I would have to apply for SSI cause i don't have quite enough quaters for SS, but becuse of the income we do make it keeps me from applying for the SSI. But i am able to do the driving and Willie does most of the work. He is a pretty good kid. Helps us out alot, i don't know what we would do without him. Can't even get the Badger Care here cause we are over by like 100 dollars a month, we kind of fall between the cracks as do alot of other people that can't afford of can't get health insurance. Well i will go, thanks again for the welcome. Soft hugs, Sharon - In , luvpostcardz@w... wrote: > Hello Sharon- > Welcome to the group. I just joined myself a week ago. Guest guest
Rich, hi. Welcome to our group. I'm VickieG or onelildeltagirl, age 58 and in treatment for the first time. The good attitude is probably 95% of the battle. And, I'm finding that it's hard to keep. But with the help of this group, you will do well. I take my 10th shot tonight, so I'm fairly new in treatment. I stressed out at times with all the preparations just getting to treatment and I thought that was the hardest part. It was, at that time. Now, I'm learning that it's a juggeling act. I don't think there is a recipe book, but I've read that eating healthy is key. Fruits, veggies, all the good stuff. Stay away from fried foods as much as possible and rest lots. I get heartburn real bad after eating greasy foods and when stressed out. Hugs, and hope to talk to you in group on Thursday night.
