As it stands, only Oregon Chiropractic Association members can join the council forums. Maybe not fair but a major reason for getting involved in the new state association--synergy, coordination, and solidarity. These forums are more than discussion groups. The OCA board wants to address as many diverse issues in the profession as possible without dilution and move forward as a strong unified chiropractic profession.

Fairness isn’t the issue for me. It is

just that some people are unable or unwilling to join an association and so it

is still good to have their input, which is exactly what this Listserve has

enabled. Vern has done an excellent job keeping everyone informed via the Listserve

and people have answered his calls for help no matter what group(s) they do or

don’t belong to. I was just wondering if people on the Listserve would still be

able to stay informed as to what is happening in the forums ?

As it stands, only Oregon Chiropractic Association members can join the

council forums. Maybe not fair but a major reason for getting involved in the

new state association--synergy, coordination, and solidarity. These forums are

more than discussion groups. The OCA board wants to address as many diverse

issues in the profession as possible without dilution and move forward as a

strong unified chiropractic profession.

Group,

I am very excited to be the moderator for the OCA Council on Wellness

Forum on the OCA website. I am looking for like-minded OCA members to

join me in developing ways we can bring science-based wellness and

prevention to the forefront of healthcare with our patients,

communities and the State of Oregon.

I would love to see Oregon as

a

national model for healthcare reform with wellness and prevention at

the core.

To accomplish this, we must come together and get the dialogue going.

This needs to be a grass-roots effort. The change toward wellness

must come from the bottom-up, not from the top-down. Many of you have

connections with your patients, your communities, and your legislators

which could be key avenues for us to spread the truth that holistic

wellness lifestyle interventions can reverse and prevent the chronic

disease that is bankrupting our state and country.

The People of Oregon want to be healthy, they are searching for health

answers, they just don't know what to do to get well or more

importantly, how to get themselves to do it. The People of Oregon

need Wellness Chiropractors to show them the way. There is no other

profession doing it, there is no other profession with the philosophy

and passion that we have. The People of Oregon are depending on us!
