Welcome, Debbie - I am relatively new here, too - just ask questions

and folks will answer!

EasyGreen update - This thing grows sprouts like wild. It does start to

smell a bit by the fifth day with broccoli sprouts - not as much with

bean and radish and mustard. I prefer cleaning it with hydrogen

peroxide - bleach makes the house smell of chlorine. It's not difficult

to clean, just takes some time.

I have grown a number of pounds of sprouts in only a few weeks - I do

not eat 100% raw, and find the mung bean sprouts, which I grow large

until their leaves open and the beans are pinkish, make wonderful

" noodles " if they are lightly steamed until the beany taste is gone and

then sauces, raw or cooked, are put over them. I eat them roots and

all. Mustard sprouts are really pungent and a wonderful treat in salads

and things. Arugula seeds were too gelatinous - also basil. I think I

need to try them on a chia pet or something that sprouts this kind of

seed. Any suggestions? Onion seeds taste great but take awhile to get

big enough and I have trouble getting the black seed coat off.

My salad greens did not work. Has anyone gotten that to work for them?

I know sunflower and buckwheat will work but I tried actual lettuce,

thinking I could just grow them in there longer. They never really grew

- sprouted in their perlite and just sat there.

Jack, what have you been up to with your sprouter?

Anyway - sprouting is great. They have such wonderful flavors!
