Administrative Note: Three tips on reducing email flow

Please try to reduce the volume of email flowing by following these

three suggestions:

1. Trim your posts of thread history. If you must quote back a

previous email, try only to include only the immediate email you are

responding to and delete previous dialogs on the thread.

2. Avoid using the list for one-to-one or private exchanges. It

is not impolite or wrong or violating anyones privacy by responding

privately to a public posting. Having off-list dialogs are common.

3. Resist the urge to " vote " on the opinions in another post

using one or two word messages like " I agree! " or " Me too " or even

" Thank you. " The almost four hundred members of this list really don't

need to hear you post a simple " awwww " . (Nobody's has done this yet,

btw, this note just in case. There are always exceptions. Sometimes a

one or two word response can be hilarious. Use your good judgment.

4. If you were paying attention, you would know that there isn't

a fourth suggestion. But do try to remember the three given. <wink>

5. There's no fourth, so why would there be a fifth? Sheesh.
