Guest guest
I've found that just speaking up and doing some educating has helped.. I've been able to get one of our local grocery stores to start stocking organic, non-homogenized milk (yes, I know, lots of people think milk is a no-no) just by periodically asking if they were stocking it " yet " (giving the vague impression that they were behind the times). We get a few organic fresh fruits and veggies. Periodically, I'll talk to the produce people and say stuff like, " When do you think you'll start stocking....? " Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But it's slowly (very slowly...lol) getting better. I can't wait until the CSA farm is open again. Besides offering shares, they are opened on Friday afternoons, so anyone can come and purchase fresh produce. They also sell at one of the local farmers markets. Until then, I'll just have to be satisfied with my fresh organic sprouts. I'm sprouting french green lentils right now. Any suggestions on how to serve them (other than just eating them...yum)? Terri Re: Today Fairfax California tomorrow the World I wish we had more organics here. But this is the edge of Pennsylvania Amish farm territory, so we do get many fresh things. And a few health stores carry my produce, organic. And going online is a good source for information and other things. Very good group here.
