A sudden worsening or sudden onset after it had resolved would be considered an exacerbation. Not 100% sure on that but with the disease that I have that is how they distinguish between the two. A sudden disappearance would be considered a remission. Peggikaye ... Oklahoma

Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: " Lowe " <lowek@... > It's so odd! Yesterday, Cameron almost seemed like his old self. He did not refer to " Trouble " (that's what he's named his OCD) until bedtime. I suppose this is what you guys mean when you say " waxing and waning " ? I think waxing and waning means a more or less gradual worsening, then resolving, of symptoms. My daughter's OCD has never waxed, she has had abrupt worsenings, then cruises along at the increased symptom level before beginning a waning phase. She has just recently experienced isolated days when her symptoms were noticeably lower as Cameron did yesterday. >Last night I asked him if he loved me and he replied that he thought he did - maybe a little. Last week, he said he didn't and he couldn't feel anything, just empty inside. I couldn't hug him or kiss him. My response (other than to clinch and fight the tears) was to tell him that was okay because I have plenty of love for both of us until his comes back. Does Cameron take an SSRI? Adults I know taking Prozac or another SSRI have told me they experienced a disturbing sense of feeling nothing when it would be appropriate to feel an emotion. It seemed this was more common during the beginning weeks of SSRI therapy. FWIW, Kathy R. in Indiana
