You can play music CD's by going to the Percent design that came in your protocols package. That has a model for CD player, and you can just set up the same way in any of the other designs.

Playing Tetris is done by getting the handheld version of the game and playing it while doing a session.

To get good ocean sounds, there are two options:

If you have a good sound card, like a SoundBlaster Awe64, you can select Seashore (MIDI voice 123); some good sound cards have excellent realistic seashore sounds. I strongly recommend using headphones instead of speakers, though it this case you might try a pair of conch shells.

The second option is to look on the internet for .wav files of seashore sounds. Here's one source for all kinds of sounds free (including lots of rushing water, waterfalls, seashore, etc.--make sure she goes to the bathroom before starting training!) http://www.partnersinrhyme.com/soundfx/watersounds.shtml

You should be able to set up a cool demo with a recorded session file, the video player, the power spectrum display and maybe a bargraph along with some of the cool MIDI sounds.

Help getting started with BioEx and ocean sounds for SMR

Hi Pete and all,Now that I have BioEx installed I am going to start experimenting with it in prepartation for attending Pete's course next month. Can you anyone tell me how to set it up to play CDs? I think that some people are able to have their clients "play tetris." I do public talks and would like have some more interesting demos. Also, I have a 9 year old that I am working with training SMR and she would like "ocean sounds" has her reward sound -- what's the best way to do this using Bio Ex?Thanks for any and all help. I know there are some very experienced BioEx users on this list and any advice on getting started would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

About half my clients who use the CD player for training prefer

the play/pause the others respond better if the threshold pass

fail goes into the volume input rather than the enable input.

I set the volume to a very listenable level for when thresholds are

met and very quiet for when thresholds are not met. The client

then has to settle in and listen closely in order to hear the cd and

this change in attention often helps meet the thresholds again.

Great idea. I've stayed away from working with CD's because, unlike the video feedback, the CD music is really irritating with all the starting and stopping. Conrolling the volume is a terrific alternative. The best I've come up with is using old Spike songs and training clients to keep the sound OFF, which they are highly motivated to do.
