Guest guest
I have ment to send this out on a regular bases for those that are new to this wonderful craft, but have forgotten. As many of you know I have become sensitive to FO's because of the synthetics in them and being saturated over several months of making soap back in '99' getting ready for some shows. I had no idea that would happen and now have to be careful when working with FO's so I don't get sick from them, either really bad headaches and sometimes stomach aches. I do love them and work with the a lot and God willing will always be able to do so. Goodness knows I have several hundred on hand to work with. <G> This problem has gotten better for me over time but only after being very careful and trying to always pull out as much of the halo that the oils make in the room and surrounding area where I am working. This halo happens regardless of whether one is working with Cold Processing of soap or Hot Processing or even when making any of the products that we make. Many people do not get effected by this, but for those that do it can be a real problem. I find that there are times when I can't even stand my favorite scent because it can bring on one of the headaches or get me sick to my stomach. That is usually when I am getting sick from something else. Please take caution when working with any oils even EO's as any of them can cause problems with this. Use as much ventilation as possable to pull out the huge halo in the rooms you are in and get some fresh air in when possable. Don't get me wrong, I love working with them all, but I know that we have had some soapers have to stop making soap because of getting so sick from them. Take care.
