Guest guest
Oops, Trainer's Practicum Update didn't make it into the first message. Here's the whole thing again. Delete the earlier one. Hi everyone, Currently scheduled workshops are shown below, for March and April. Several others are in the works, announcements will be forthcoming. One important piece of news. We have shortened the Trainers Practicum to 3 days. This makes it more accessible, time-wise and financially. What this does mean, however, is that the Level 2 workshop and comfortableness doing assessments are prerequisites for the practicum. Assessments will NOT be done during the training. Level 2 and then the Practicum shortly after is now a recommended training option. Level 2 covers how to do the Assessment, the Practicum covers how to do training plans based on the Assessment. The 3 day Practicum will be given for the first time at Hank Mann's in Stonington, April 11-13, and a fuller workshop description is given below. A few weeks ago Pete described on the list the new Trainers Practicum Update and Brain Prime workshops. These workshops are being given in Woodbridge, VA April 7-10. Descriptions are also below. Foxx March 15-20: Golden Beach (Caloundra) Australia Trainers Practicum (March 15-18, four days) Getting the Most from BioExplorer (March 19-20) April 2-10: Woodbridge, VA Level 1: Basics of Brain Training (April 2) Level 2: Assessment and Training Planning (April 3-4) Getting the Most from BioExplorer (April 5-6) Training Practicum Update (April 7-8) Brain Prime (April 9-10) April 11-13, Stonington, CT Trainer's Practicum (three days) April 20-24: Indianapolis, IN Level 1: Basics of Brain Training (April 20) Level 2: Assessment and Training Planning (April 21-22) Getting the Most from BioExplorer (April 23-24) Level 1: Basics of BrainTraining (8 hours $195) Gain a clear understanding of brain training’s technical basis (sources of EEG, frequency and amplitude, monopolar and bipolar montages, one and two-channel protocols, common-mode rejection, artifact and more) and practice hands-on the first 3 required skills of the brain trainer: 1. Finding sites quickly and accurately in the 10/20 system; 2. Preparing, applying, removing and cleaning leads quickly and effectively; 3. Evaluating signal quality; identifying and minimizing key sources of artifact. Level 2: Assessment and Training Planning (16 hours $375) Prerequisite: Level 1. Learn the TLC system for assessing brain activation patterns and their correlations with mood, performance and behavior to guide protocol selection for a wide range of objectives. Complete subjective and objective assessments as client and as trainer and produce your own training plan. Focus on skills 4 and 5: 4. Assess the client's symptoms, goals and brain activation patterns and use them to create a training plan; Educate client and support system on brain activation patterns, behavior and the brain training process Package Price for Training Levels 1 and 2: $550 Getting the Most from BioExplorer (16 hours $375) This is an intensely hands-on orientation to BioExplorer, a software packagethat permits users to use the same program with a variety of hardware platforms, provides exceptional feedback options and a broad range of protocol options. Each participant brings a current assessment for her/himself and may also bring assessments from clients. Hands-on experience is the major focus of this workshop, but we will NOT performassessments in the workshop: 1. Evaluating multiple assessments and developing multiple training plans to build confidence; 2. Performing training sessions with a variety of training options; 3. Developing protocols and training environments in your native system; 4. A detailed training plan for each participant . Trainer’s Practicum Update: (16 hours $375) Prerequisite: Trainers' Practicum: Assessment. Presentation of a new Excel tool for BioExplorer users: An Analyze page for the TLC Assessment. This one page summarizes the assessment data for nine categories of brain activation patterns, each with subcategories: Overall EEG shape, EEG symmetry, alpha patterns, temporal lobe, reversal, blocking, locking/coherence, filtering and processing.a. Learn to calculate and read the new Analyze tool.b. Hands on practice with new protocols based on the tool. Brain Prime, for the Ageing Brain: (16 hours $375) This two-day workshop covers research on aging and the brain, and presents a group of proven protocols to be used with those 45 and older who wish to avoid or remediate age-related cognitive decline. The workshop provides participants the opportunity to try various of the BrainPrime protocols as trainer and client. It also covers marketing and pricing questions.a.
