OCD clinic

Hi, I'm excited because I got an appointment with an OCD clinic that

works with CBT in children. The appointment is tomorrow... I'll let

you know what I think. This clinic seems to be in line with Dr.

March's approach. The website for this clinic (it's in sdale,

Such great news that you have an appointment shortly to get started with

treatment! The web site looks very promising. I particularly like the

information about how the family is included in therapy. Also the doctor

profiled obviously knows about the expert consensus guidelines and supports

meds when necessary.

Does the clinic also do behavior therapy with their patients out of the

office? For some symptoms these are best addressed in vivo. For example,

sometimes my car gets contaminated depending on whom I have given a ride

to, and Steve's therapist borrows my car to do exposures. Certain places

are triggers for Steve and his therapist takes him there and exposes him to

the kinds of people he fears, e.g. hippies, drug addicts, AIDS sufferers.
