Guest guest
Hi ARU ! Welcome to this group. I hope you will enjoy reading our posts and will comment with your own thoughts. I have been here a little over one month and I found there are many nice people who are members. I have learned much on various subjects relating to sprouting in a short time. One possibility is to look at past entries. I have looked at many from the past and it is a fun thing to do if you have a few extra computer minutes from time to time. INCIDENTALLY -- does anyone know how to get post from JUST ONE THREAD all together ? Some subjects are continued from days to weeks and it's not easy to pick them out of all the others to read responses that come along from one comment to the next. There's no pictures posted here. Sometimes that would be helpful when discussing techniques for sprouting. It would also be nice to see the things people talk about. These days, digital cameras can take quick snapshots that can be uploaded and shown online. A couple of times already I wish I had a photo to see the actual thing someone was talking about that they'd done or experimented with. Yes well. I'm not complaining. I remember a few years ago reading a recommendation from a nutritionalist. He said that you should SET ASIDE a certain 10 minutes every day to read quietly on ANY subject about health and nutrition. He recommended that you make a special area in your home just for this - - or maybe take a plant there and set it on the table by your side when you read your health subject everyday, something like that. This activity will train your sub-concious mind to generally remember that health is part of your thinking. It's not the specific information you're reading about each day that is most important with this -- it's that the " back of your mind " is working for you in the area of health. For example, you might be driving to work on a highway. The back of your mind (or your sub-conscious mind) is constantly monitoring things along the way. When you pass a major building or highway sign or a prominent tree, etc., you mind is automatically keyed into the awareness that your exit is coming up and prepares you to turn off the highway. The same idea will happen to you in your own health, but if you take the time everyday to read for 10 minutes or so on health, this will help your mind help you. If you don't do it -- your sub-conscious mind won't be trained to " remind you " and keep you on the right side of things, so far as staying in good health practices is concerned. I believe this does work to your benefit. You could devise something like this to do to go along with the times you rinse your sprouts everyday. Or you could make sure to be reading on health when you eat a sprouts snacks. Or require the conversation to be only on health matters during sprout eating. LOL. Still, it's a good idea, even if the possibilities I'm suggesting sound a little silly. I don't want to cause anyone family trouble by suggesting that you could " lay down the law " and require others to engage in health conversations. Might be fun though. You could even schedule a different day for each person to bring a subject to discuss. Anyways, I do try to do reading on health, usually every day with this idea in mind. I find the sprouts group is like that for me. It's one reason I enjoy group. I know I'm telling my mind to please help me stay healthy when I come here or read the emails that my friends have posted. Again, welcome ARU. And thanks all for the many gr8 posts and responses you've put on this site. Jerry in Pennsylvania
