By the way, I see there was a discussion on the terra cotta sprouter back in

2006. I just read through it--there is some good info there.

I do not follow the instructions that come with the EasySprout. I rinse

twice daily from the beginning. Just as I do the sprouts in my jars. If

you bought the EasySprout from , you would have gotten a set

of their instructions, which I feel are better.

I was using a ton of water because I thought it was necessary, both

to give them ALL a drink and to rinse off any yukky stuff that was

developing on them. I see they're not rinsed that often with the Easy

Sprout either, just to give them a drink. I was very surprised to see

that I was not to water them for 24 hours after the initial soak and

drain and dry.

Live and learn!

Hmm, about the Easy Sprout directions. I don't know whether the instructions

I've got are the ones you think are better or the ones you think are worse--but

I do think they could have been written better. It came in what appears to be

the professional box like you'd see on a store shelf so I assumed the

instructions were also the right ones. Actually, I never thought about there

being any other set of instructions--who would?

I started out sprouting thinking that if I didn't give the seeds/sprouts tons of

water then they would just shrivel up and die, and I'd be a baaaada mama! What

I've learned from this whole discussion is that it just ain't so.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The instructions that come in the EasySprout box seem to work fine for

them, but they are in Wisconsin. Most of the rest of us aren't. I often

read gardening instructions written by people who live in climates

different than mine, who have not got a clue to how to garden in SoCal.

The other instruction that I mentioned was a xeroxed copy produced by the

. Worked better for me. I had the privelge to see a video on

'The Gardener Guy " show on HGTV that was was done by Gil of .

It showed how he uses the EasySprout. I do what he do.
