I went to the local B & N yesterday and bought two copies after some

wait while the staff went digging to find them in some distant hidden

shelf. Today, I made return visit and asked the manager, while

pointing to the print out of B & N's bestsellars list, how come their

number three bestsellar was so difficult to find? He stood there

dumbfounded for a moment but then replied that he didn't know why but

let's fix this right now. We both went back and dug out the remaining

three copies of EOH and he placed them prominently at the front

entrance under new releases. Turns out one of his employees has a

child on the spectrum too.

Speaking of videoing, I'm hoping they don't have in-store cameras or my face could end up on a 'wanted' poster behind the cash register. I'm there all the time, and this time I felt like covert ops with my books in hand, propping one up on the top of its pile on the new non-fiction table, sticking another in the autism section...I didn't take my little guy with me or we'd have definitely gotten more attention. (Ironically, one of the worst situations was me in the library, waiting to check out several books on autism and behavioral therapy, with said child causing a fit and people glaring like 'why aren't you controlling him?' I wanted to hold up the books and say "SEE why I'm here?")

That reminds me of the appointment with the neurologist when Pj got

his dx -- he was stimming on the light switch, flashing the lights

constantly in his office.

Finally, Dr. Wonderful said " Can you please stop him from doing

that? " To which I answered, " No we can't, that's why we're here! "

Even some of the doctor's don't get it...

We should have done a photo shoot like the "I'm Sorry" page someone posted.

We all could have snapped a picture of our purchase.

I would have been pictured with a sweaty screaming child upset about Percy haha

Next time.
