sprouted tempeh?

I am expecting a tempeh starter to arrive in the mail any day now.

I'm wondering whether I can make tempeh out of sprouted

soybeans...anyone know? I read the recent posts about using sprouts

in your saurkraut, and something I read on that topic said that

sprouts improve the fermentation of the kraut. Since tempeh is

fermented too, maybe the same would hold true for that.
