and Noble so if she HAD to order online, make sure it is

I live on the border of Delta/Surrey (suburban combined population

501,743), 20 min out of Vancouver and even I had to order it in from

the Chapters/Indigo here.

I couldn't seem to find it in any of the local and city bookstores.

The absolute best solution is to contact a and Noble

bookseller retail store in the US and buy the books by

phone, using a credit card. The bookseller will ship the

books for a rather nominal charge. Its almost as easy as

buying online.

I guess I am a bit confused too..I thought 's goal when

he started this whole thing, was to get the Online #1 from

amazon.com? I checked back in the emails and this was the case..I

printed out the flyers and sent them around already...doesn't it

take alot more books sales for the NYtimes list? The point, as I

remember him saying, was that it is easy to get on the amazon list

and would help exposure of the book. I like the idea of trying for

the NYT best-seller list, I just thought it was decided it would be

to hard to get done..maybe I'm just confused..lol- very possible

happens all the time..

Not to challenge on this but #1 on amazon.com

buys us nothing...

With a dedicated push via retail book stores, it should not

be that hard to get on the NYT list, but not #1...

Sorry for the confusion - I should have been forthcoming

with this sooner. EOH Day got planned while I was

recovering from surgery...

Hope you are recovering well..

It just feels like we changed the plot of the play on opening

night..

I already passed out the flyers sent out to all the parents at

school..school is over now~ I am wondering how to redo all I have

already done.. a bit frustrating but workable.

Remember, and Noble was on the flyer so I'm sure that people

will still be buying from this source EVEN though they can't get the

final word now...this change is for all of us here and on the other

list serves to see and notate...

Again, we had three days to put this together before Autism One (on

top of the fact that I just got home from DC)...I'll be the first to

admit I probably have too much on my plate but how do you back down

from a getting a good idea in motion???

Like I said, I'm all about " movement " and I don't like to pass up an

opportunity to help bring it on. :)

Ladies and germs--I'm at your service and only care about spreading

the Word. But I think so long as we are buying books and

distributing them to the right people, it'll be a win. About this

discussion, a few thoughts:

1. Any change in plans at this point would hurt more than it would

help. The flyer already has two too many options on it. I used to

write direct mail copy and we've violated a BIG rule: never give

more than one offer or one direction to a consumer.

2. Now is the time to focus on what we want to do: Move books on

June 8. I will start the countdown tomorrow and have a " to-do " list

for each day. Each day, I will ask everyone to do ONE THING to make

June 8 a success.

3. We can have future buy campaigns targeted at specific chains, if

we wish. Right now let's just get our chops down and make June 8 a

day on which a lot of books are sold.

4. A comment by Kirby inspired this whole thing for me: Kirby

was commenting on how influential Imus was. Kirby said, " After I let

the Imus taping and was driving home to Brooklyn, EOH had already

climbed to #8 on Amazon. " So let's not pooh-pooh Amazon too much.

The NYT compiles its bestseller list from 3000 stores nationwide. If

you're going to manipulate that list, you are talking about HUGE

numbers of books and dollars, more than we have. On the other hand,

manipulating Amazon is doable and is a place to start.
