Guest guest
a 13# wt loss in 10 days is not "normal" - check her for malignancy, she may need more CHO's, and if she's taking stimulants (like adderal for adult add)-- just a few ideas. -------------- Original message -------------- Hi All, I am actually looking for some advice on a patient I have. She came in today-her preop weight was 252, she is now down to 123# and continues to lose despite consuming ~1000-1100kcals/day approximately. She has tried all of the low carb supplements out there along w/ several protein bars. She seems to be consuming 6 small meals/day all protein based, she does not include a normal exercise routine daily although states she has a hectic lifestyle right now. She appears to be an extremely picky eater. Any suggestions to halt her weight loss? She saw the surgeon 10 days ago and since then has lost 13#. This patient is very concerned w/ the continued weight loss and does not want to lose anymore. Any help or would be greatly appreciated.
