Please note some additions and changes. The dates for the September Trainer's Practicum have been changed to Sept. 21-24, to avoid conflict with Yom Kippur. In October in Virginia, due to demand, we've added a second trainers practicum and a Level 1 and 2. There is also now a two-day BioExplorer workshop in Connecticut in October. In November Pete will be in Zurich, and we've added a Level 2. If any list members in Europe have been wanting workshops in your area, let us know and we'll see if we can add them to Pete's trip. Finding sites quickly and accurately in the 10/20 system; 2. Preparing, applying, removing and cleaning leads quickly and effectively; 3. Evaluating signal quality; identifying and minimizing key sources of artifact. Level 2: Assessment and Training Planning (16 hours $375) Learn a system for assessing brain activation patterns and their correlations with mood, performance and behavior to guide protocol selection for a wide range of objectives. Complete subjective and objective assessments as client and as trainer and produce your own training plan. Focus on skills 4 and 5: 4. Assess the client's symptoms, goals and brain activation patterns and use them to create a training plan; 5. Educate client and support system on brain activation patterns, behavior and the brain training process. Level 3: Managing the Training Process (16 hours $375) Explore outcome-based coaching, session design, protocol selection and adjunctive training materials. Discuss strategies for difficult client and support group situations. Learn how to guide choices on when to change protocols and when to end training. Hands-on training sessions with a variety of hardware/software platforms are included. Focuses on tasks 6. Motivating client and support system and generalizing effects; 7. Intervening in support system to support training changes; 9. Keeping records, evaluating and reporting changes; 10. Determining when to change protocols and terminate training. Package Prices for Training For those who wish to combine Levels 1-3 workshops, there are package prices as follows: 3 days $550 4 days $695 5 days $900 Home-Based Training—Home User (24 hours $550) Home-based trainers gain a hands-on grounding in site-finding, lead placement and signal evaluation crucial to good training. Learn the terminology and concepts of brain training and an overview of brain systems and activation patterns. Practical experience in gathering assessment data and running training sessions, with an emphasis on successful coaching are integrated into the 3 days. For those who have not yet invested in equipment, this is a chance to see and try out some of the better options before buying. For those with equipment, the workshop provides a chance to use it under supervision and gain comfort. Discuss the issues that families must face during a change process and how to confront them. Getting the Most from BioExplorer (16 hours $375) This intensely hands-on orientation to BioExplorer software permits users to use the same program with a variety of hardware platforms, provides exceptional feedback options and a broad range of protocol options. Participants will learn to: 1. Install and set up the program, add training devices and access its file structure; 2. Use prepared designs to operate a training session, including changing parameters; 3. Review and evaluate training results using BioReview software with prepared designs; 4. Create new training protocols and new reports from scratch.
