Bamboo Baskets Info

To answer an older post about bamboo baskets, I wondered also why I

could not find any to purchase.

I was told my a woman Rita (I think she is called " the sprout lady " )

told me that there is a now a law that all bamboo baskets coming into

the country must be sprayed with a fungicide. There is no way to bleach

or otherwise get the chemicals out, which is why one cannot find them.

Too bad...they look like a great way to sprout. I, too, worry about

plastic.
