Tom has released a Second Edition of Brainmaster 2.0 which now allows TLC Assess users to output data directly from 2.0 and open it in the assessment. To download it and automatically upgrade your 2.0 software, go to www.brainm.com/software/update/2.0SE and follow the instructions. This is a FREE upgrade for all 2.0 owners.

I've also uploaded revised TLC Assess files to the Files section of the BrainTrainer list homepage (/files). The histogram display, which has previously only been available to users of BioExplorer versions of the assessment, is now included in all versions (sample attached). Many participants at recent trainings have found this display especially useful. The Heads page has been changed so each frequency band has its own color, which should make it easier to compare different sites.

I don't have the ability to produce Office XP versions of these files, so if you have Office XP and 1.9A or 2.0, please back-channel me, so I can send you a file and walk you through changing it to an XP version. Then you can send it back to me and I'll upload it.

You should be able to load old data from 2.0 into the new file as follows:

1. Open the old file

2. In Format menu, click Sheet:Unhide and select the Raw sheet.

3. Open the TLC Assess20 R file; in the Format menu click Sheet:Unhide and click Raw.

4. In the old file, find the column for Delta average and click in the cell in the first row of numbers in that column.

5. In the new file, find the column for USR average, hold down the Shift key and click in the cell in the LAST row of numbers in THAT column.

6. Copy that block of data that is highlighted. Activate the new file.

7. Click in the first blank row in the Delta Avg column and Paste. The data should appear in the new sheet.

8. Repeat steps 4-7, selecting from Delta Avg2 to USR Avg2 and pasting at the first blank row under Delta Avg 2 in the new sheet.

9. Repeat steps 4-7, selecting from Delta COH to USR COH and pasting at the first blank row under Delta COH in the new sheet.

10. Return to the old sheet one last time.

11. Click on the number 19 in the Row number column (furthest left) and hold the mouse button while you drag down to row 27.

12. Copy the selected rows and return to the new file and click on the word Site in cell A19.

13. Paste the data. Go to the Format menu and select Sheet:Hide. Click on the Report tab at the bottom of the page.

Pete,

Tom has included a file called "assess" which overwrote my existing "assess" file that I use for TLC assessments. It has obviously been written for the purpose of doing your assessments, but I've notice some slight differences. I've changed them now and can't remember them exactly, but they include stuff like a 240 mV threshold instead of 120 mV, 3rd order instead of 6th order filters and having the training radio button used instead of the assessment button.

I'm not sure how much of a difference this will make to the TLC assessment. You might want to check it out.

Mark,

Thanks. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. This is very helpful for me and Tom, who is looking for any changes that need to be made.

I don't think the artifact threshold makes much difference, but switching 6th order filters, which we use in the assessment, to 3rd order is definitely something that needs to be changed. I don't know exactly what the training vs. assessment buttons do, but it shouldn't hurt to switch it back to assessment.
