Guest guest
> Ann > > What kind of help are you talking .. and what version (trial) or > purchased ? > , I just purchased and started using bioexplorer amonth ago... Pete set me up with his protocols and I have been doing training on my stepmother who had a stroke several years ago and who has undergone some radical personality/ social changes over the past several years (in addition to huge memory deficits)... Since starting the training, we are seeing some shifts in her focus, etc. but I cannot seem to access bioreview, graphs, etc. so that any changes I am seeing are fairly subjective... I am a beginner at all this... I had been fairly competent at getting the graphs, etc. when I was using Brainmaster 1.9... Anyhow, hope this helps gives you an answer as to how you might be able to help me... thanks in advance... Anne
Guest guest
Absolutely . it does.. My first suggestion would be NOT to depend on graphs and data too extensively. While, for me, it's good to see what kinds of short term results are met, many " academic studies " have shown that overall, the EEG does not change. I had a hard time with this, at first, but now doesn't bother me, since J I’ve seen my theta/beta ratios change dramatically. HOWEVER, initially it was discouraging. All that being said, what is your goal, exactly. I’m guessing, there’s lots of low, delta-theta stuff, you may be trying to inhibit, and you may be trying it at particular sites. Give me an idea of your goals, and I can try to help you set up a BioReview assessment that would give you your data. (oh, and also the protocols .. whether one channel or 2 channel..etc.
Guest guest
USING BioReview with BioExplorer Preview v.99.06 Just as in BioExplorer where you have to do some work to establish a Design that will do what you want, so too in BioReview you must do some work to get a Report that will do what you want. In order to utilize the power and flexibility of each program, you usually have to make some choices and set them up first. REPORT MENU To establish a Report of your own, you must first start either by 1.) clicking on Report>Open.. to get Larry's "SingleChannelBands.rpt" or "DualChannelsBands.rpt"; 2.) opening some other Report that may be on file; or 3.) clicking on Report>New to use one of the recorded sessions you have on file, in which case there will be no name with "[Report- ]" at the very top of your screen. In the most unlikely case that you have no recorded sessions on file or no Reports on file, you're temporarily out of luck; and you will have to get one from somebody else and load it since there is now way to create a Report totally from scratch in BioReview. Once you have opened a Report, you can use it, alter it, "Save" it in whatever its present state may be, or do a "Save As" with a name that is all its own thus leaving the original source of your new Report intact. SIGNAL DIAGRAM MENU Each report you have on file will have one Signal Diagram and a number of Views (or even no View at all if one hasn't been created.) Each View will access some or all of the things that appear on the Signal Diagram. Nothing will appear in any View that is not present on the Signal Diagram. Therefore, click on Window>Signal Diagram to see what you have there, and then Add (click on Signal Diagram>Add Objects) or Delete objects to the diagram to get what you want just as you do when working on a Design in BioExplorer. Since your Report will process only the original raw EEG data stream, the details of the Design used when that raw data stream was recorded are totally irrelevant The same "Transform" objects used in BioExplorer are all available here so that you can reproduce any aspect of the previous Design and do even more. For example, it may be useful to use Expression Evaluator to compute a ratio and divide it by a million so that its numerical range will now easily fit on the same Chart display as the EEG signals. VIEW MENU Unless you need to go back and add something new to your Signal Diagram, once you have opened a Report and clicked on Report>Run on Session .. to load a recorded data stream, you will mainly be working with the View menu to review your data. However, if you do find it necessary to add something new to the Diagram - and then of course to a View as well - you must do a "Run on session ..." again in order to process the signal with the object(s) that you've added. Open a View - - by clicking on the Window menu and choosing one that is on file, or by establishing a new one by clicking View>New. By default, View will first display in "Chart" mode, but you can toggle this with "Table" mode using the tabs in the upper left corner of the View window. Chart mode displays graphs and summary data for the whole session, or for a part of the session that you choose to run or process. Table mode presents averages of each signal, epoch by epoch for the epoch length chosen under View>Properties, again displaying the whole session or that part of it that you are running with your Report for analysis. Delete a View - - by clicking on the X in the little red box in the upper right hand corner. This is NOT the way to close a View and still have it on file; instead either minimize it or open another one. Add signal to a View - - by clicking first View>Add Signal, clicking next on an item from the list of what's available from your signal diagram, and then clicking on Add. Each signal that you add will appear on a line below the View screen's graphical display area. This line provides summary statistical data for the displayed run of data. Note that if you had given the Design Object a special name when working on the Signal Diagram, that name will appear here now. Changing the value of “Scale” is used to transform data either for purposes of exporting or so that graphs with very different original scales can be displayed together. Checking or unchecking "Chart" determines whether or not that line will be displayed with the next "Run on Session..." and that you can give each lines its own color by clicking on the colored box in just the same fashion as one changes colors in BioExplorer. Delete a signal from a View - - by clicking on the gray box for the line under "Signal" and then hit the Delete button. Change View Properties (Epoch, run lengths) - - by clicking on View>Properties. Little needs explanation here except for Epoch and the Start and End Times. Epochs are the length of time chosen to break the raw data stream (issued about 124 times per second with BrainMaster) into chunks of equal length that are then averaged to produce a smaller number of data points for Chart or Table display. If, say, the Epoch length you chose here was 10 seconds, six data points would be computed from the raw data for a given signal giving you 6 rows on the Table display and 5 line segments connecting these six points on the Chart display. (An epoch length of 8.0m will actually give you each raw data point; but the raw data stream is better accessed by View>Export.) I like to use 30 seconds or even longer for chart display to clients as it smooths things out some and better shows overall trends. (I believe that some moving average options to smooth things out even better are on Larry's long list.) By choosing stop and start times for a part of the session that you want to run through the processing, all Table results and Chart - including the summary statistics - will be limited to that part of the session you have chosen. Zooming and unzooming the Chart - - by positioning your cursor in the upper left corner of that part of the Chart display that you want to enlarge, hold down your left mouse button releasing it only after having moved the cursor to where you want to position the lower right hand corner of the enlarged display. In addition to changing what you see, this also has the same effect as changing the Start and End Timesof the length of run that is processed. To return to the chart display - and numbers - that you started with click on View>Cancel Zoom. You can also zoom a zoom you've already done. Print or Export Data - - by clicking on View>Print Summary or Print Epochs or Export. Note that the nature and extent of data issued will depend on the epoch length chosen and on the length of the run of data processed which you may have chosen by zooming or through View>Properties. Guest guest
I'm guessing here but do you have the bioreview shortcut on your desktop? Go to the BioExplorer folder and find Bioreview.exe. When you click it BioReview should start. You can right click the icon and create a shortcut for your desktop. BioExplorer and BioReview are separate programs.
