Guest guest
if anyone wants to they can go to pressconnects.com and view the photos. The water is about to crest over the retaining wall in downtown. If the water crests it will mean that the city will be flooded. I was sent home from work this morning, 1st time that I had taken one route and stopped because of trees in the road and the water was 2 feet deep. I driven the other way and made it to work fine, only to be sent home due to the plant being closed. So many roads are being washed out it is just totally unreal. Guest guest
Beth, our home is fine. It was just hard to get home because so many roads are impassable. It is still getting worse in downtown Binghamton. Internet is out, only access is though mobile phone. Anyone heard from yet? Guest guest
My daughter and her family live there. I wanted to get them home to Naples but troopers told them that 17 and 81 are under water. Her road so far is clear but she's hearing horror stories about other areas. Still has power but that will be shut off if the city floods. Katy On Sep 8, 2011, at 3:47 PM, Lorrie Beach <canterburycabin@...> wrote: > Beth, our home is fine. Guest guest
Hi All, We are safe and sound here. My relatives are here with me who were evacuated. The brook out back became a lake and we were up many times during the night to see if it would enter the yard and thank God it didn't. All has receded now. My concern now is for my brother's family, they have been flooded in Conklin again losing two homes and a business. Thanks for your concern. We will be busy with the clean up. For sure it will be devastating to this community. On 9/8/2011 1:38 PM, Beth Byrne wrote: > Scary! Have you heard from ? I'm glad you're OK.
Guest guest
I'm so glad to hear you all are safe! I'm really sorry to hear about your relatives, though, the loss of homes and a business. :-( That's tough. I looked up Conklin on the map and saw that it's by the Susquehanna. That's a tough place to be right now. My heart goes out to them. Guest guest
I was in no danger of the flooding, I live up on a tall hill so if I have water the villiages of greene and smithville need to be under water. Guest guest
Glad to hear everyone is ok. My husband was telling me about Binghamton and he was concerned about & . He did say it was mainly in the downtown area so probably wouldn't get to you all. I'm visiting my sister out of state and news reaches me kind of late.
