Guest guest
Please forgive me for asking, but I am new and have just started to read the emails. What is a rawfooder? Do they eat all raw veggies.. What about meat? Fish? Thank you for your trouble. JB Laurel Run Bird Farm (NJ)

Guest guest
Hi Suzanne! I am really interested in learning more about a raw food lifestyle. How long have you been eating this way? What differences have you noticed healthwise in how you feel/look, etc... I am not a raw fooder yet; heck I'm not even a vegetarian; but I'm looking at broadening my horizons so to speak. I'm detoxing: fasting/juicing/raw fooding it for the week, and hoping to continue raw fooding it for about 75% of my diet. I decided to commit for a month and see how I feel. I have been feeling sluggish/unmotivated lately and hoped this would increase my energy level (as with working out again). I just ordered the book " Conscious Eating " by Dr. Cousins and I buy organic food from a co-op run by a medical doctor who also is a raw fooder so have learned some from his advice. I just hope I have the will power to adapt this lifestyle....I hope in time i can retrain myself.... warmly, Chris <<I am a raw food vegetarian, meaning I don't consume any > meats, dairy or other animal products. Guest guest
JB, I am not an expert by any means, but have become acquanted with some raw fooders in a group i'm in (Families for Natural Living, Dallas chapter) in the last few months so I am very curious myself and learning. What i have learned so far is one would eat just raw foods: fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, and only sprouted grains/breads (? correct me if i'm wrong), NO Meats-seafood, and nothing cooked over 105 degrees (?) to prevent destroying any vitamins, enzymes, nutrients......along those lines......so no pasta either i believe, but one could get creative and make zuchini pasta or something like that. They have raw food cookbooks, and they get creative and gourmet too. Hope that Helps, Chris > Please forgive me for asking, but I am new and have just started to read the > emails. Guest guest
YOur welcome......it would definately take a lot of commitment! I love seafood, salmon, sushi, pasta/rice, so i'm not sure how i'll do.....my aim is 75% raw foods-i don't think i could become a *true* raw fooder; we'll see.....hmmmmm.....wish me luck! Guest guest
Hi all, Sorry I didn't respond earlier--been too busy to check my e-mail. I love my raw food diet and have no desire for any animal products. I also practice proper food-combining. Example: I try not to eat starches and proteins in the same meal. They each require different enzymes in the stomach to digest them. When you eat them together, those enzymes tend to neutralize each other making the meal difficult on the body to digest. When I don't combine correctly, I REALLY know it. When I eat correctly, I never get sleepy after eating and I really don't get sick--except for a once-a-year cold which " cleans house " so to speak (we live in a polluted and sin-cursed world after all). Never even get headaches anymore! I have eaten like this for about five years I would guess. Best thing I've ever done apart from becoming a Christian. Thanks for the website, I am always looking for creative ways to prepare food! Suzanne Re: raw fooder-Suzanne > Hi Suzanne!
